The way nairalander are hating private universities their generation may not be able to attend one. It's not a curse, what you despise you don't attract
What you hate you repel
It's a simple law of nature.

I believe God that my children Will attend private university, cu in particular then go abroad for Masters.
So shall it be in Jesus name

Dude, last year, there were just 82 first class graduatestudents from CU, I don't think upto 20 applied for PRESSID..
Last year grads are not eligible for PRESSID because they should be doing their NYSC program this time and besides there is no restriction as to number of times someone can apply therefore CU graduates of 2013 and below are eligible. So, when you consider the number of firstclass grads CU has produced over the years then you will appreciate my point. kudos to CU though...

What some of us don't understand is that our lecturers in federal universities are largely sadists who always sees the cups as half empty unlike their counterparts at the private universities who sees the cups as half filled.

And that is all that makes the difference.

There are millions of first class would have been students at our federal and state universities if only the evil machinations of our school authorities and depth of hell heart of most our lecturers are not there to render them to degraded pass marks.
best post so far..That is why i tell younger people i know to go to a private uni if they can afford it. The world has moved in, no one cares about what university you graduated from again...what everyone wants to see is your grade..which leads to opportunities both in Nigeria and overseas.

Lil, over 10% of the students have first class...Is that really a school ?

First class is an elite position, not a position anyone can reach.

Nigeria.

You guys always say this bullshit.. PRESSID is a federal competition.. How many FUTO students made the cut?

Though i don't want to corroborate what was posited. But sincerely,FUTO in my five years there only produced less than 5-10 first class student.

The applicants for PRESSID may not even be up to this no. So there is no way they can produce the number akin to that of covenant who have 100 ist class graduate or more every year.

Note, am not denying the fact that CU is a standard university.

beef u mean?? He is very right if we are to judge vividly. Private uni is a dumping ground for those that cannot pass their jamb. Hv a cousin sis who is now @ Madonna uni studying pharmacy as a result of her many attempt on taking jamb which was not successful. Lucky as she was fortunate to be in a rich family.

I had over 250 in my JAMB at my first attempt and I went to a Private University. What's your point?

Can d first class graduates in CU can ever compete with second class upper graduates in universities lik OAU,UI,Unilorin, and Unilag?why there is no any CU student has come first or second in inter-campuses debates organised for under graduate Law students and medicine students?why is it easier to gain admission into CU than federal universities like OAU,Unilorin,UI,Unilag,UNN? Rhetorical questions.

Your English is a disaster.

Kindly request for a refund of the outrageous fees paid by your parents.

This further buttresses the fact that CU and their likes are nothing but dumping grounds for candidates who are intellectually handicapped to meet up with admission requirements of Federal and State universities.

They use ''good grades'' to compensate parents and sponsors for exorbitant fees paid to acquires certificates their wards can hardly defend.

People like you that don't know anything about CU will be talking trash. just cause you cant afford it. 2 years ago CU sent back swarms of freshers who defaulted in their waec. Private counterparts are here to stay, they will make waves in Nigeria and all over theglobe its just a matter of time and they will get there

Some people hate on CU meanwhile the school progresses...Yall should continue, one day in the near future, CU may be the cornerstone of private universities. Who knows, it may be the next Harvard in Nigeria. Your federal universities will have to pay money to use CU labs or even their facilities... Continue hating

And how are you faring in the labor market?

Hardly had any private university graduate trainee made it past the probationary period in my organization.

They have zero tolerance to work under pressure. If they were assigned to do any job, they would still be babysat from start to finish. Failure of which leads to a litany of tales of mistakes.

Two were in the same class with me at Lagos Business School; they were nothing but bench warmers both in our general class and our syndicate room.

You are just backward. people will be hating on private schools like say tomorrow no dey. Corruption is every where and you ave not heard every ones story. AND pls don't ever mention UNILAG again, those ones are corrupt to the marrow, they don't give admission on merit again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
