A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former governor of Plateau state, Ambassador Fidelis Tapgun, has disclosed that he worked towards the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded general elections. According to him, he decided to work for the APC because of the injustice perpetrated against PDP members and the imposition of candidates during the elections by some state governors at various levels. Tapgun revealed this while addressing newsmen at his country home in Jos on April 21, Tuesday, The Punch reports. Betrayal? PDP Chief Who Worked For APC Victory Opens Up . He said: “ I contributed to the success of the APC in the state because my party failed. My party failed to zone the governorship to the southern part and that was the greatest error made by the party. The APC fortunately zoned the governorship to the southern part and it won. Contributing to the APC victory was not because we were gratified, it was not hidden at all; it was not done behind the scene. We openly said that we were going to work against the PDP in Plateau State and we kept our promise. “We are PDP; we are not going out and we did it to the end. So, the success of the APC is on the platform of the PDP and we are not ashamed of and it is good to show people that whenever you don’t perform you will be kicked out .” He explained that the PDP was divided and that APC’s victory at the federal and state levels was not surprising. The former governor accused President Goodluck Jonathan of allowing some PDP governors to hijack the party, adding that he and some governorship aspirants had warned the president about the impending fall of the party, but were ignored. Reports had surfaced some days back that the PDP had begun reviewing its performance in the March 28 presidential election to ascertain the cause of Jonathan’s defeat. It was alleged that some top members of the party, especially those from the North, connived with the APC to ensure that Jonathan was beaten at the polls. Some PDP chieftains are calling for the resignation or removal of the party’s national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu , for failing to lead the party to victory. The PDP not only lost the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC), it also lost its National Assembly majority status, governorship seats and state Houses of Assembly.

This is exactly what my riverine brothers in Rivers state would have done to have their turn in Rivers state. But they were all blinded by the lies of PDP and Jonathan's wife, patience. In less than 2 yr in Nyesom Wike's tenure, it will done on them that they made a very serious political miscalculation. Wike is my brother, both by tribe and locality, but am not supporting him because I want power to rotate in Rivers state for justice and fairness. The manner in which Wike plays his politics is not good for us. In everything, he shows too much greed and desperation.

This man is trying to make the APC notice him and give him some good appointment; everyone wants to be noticed by the side that won.

What Tapgun said was nothing but the truth, Jonah Jang made a Very big miscalculation by fielding his nephew GNS Pwajock to contest the governorship seat in the state. Firstly, he violeted the zoning arrangement by fielding his family member from the same zone. Secondly, civil servants are on strike for non payment of their salaries for over 5months and still counting. Thirdly, had GNS not contested the election he would have been in the senate, and therefore Jonah Jang would have to retire from politics and therefore, in other to win the seat from Gns he have to send him on a fools errand.

Hence, in all that happens in the last elections in Plateau state, GNS is the loser. Because Governor Jang will be the one warming GNS Pwajock's seat at the senate. While Pwajock will have go back to the class as a teacher he used to be!

GNS has got lots of fans and supporters, hence if Lalong fails in several ramifications and delivers on his alleged promises to Jos North, then he will be shown d way out in 2019; and GNS would make a bold return.

I live in Jos and I watched the political drama as it all got unfolded. It's not called betrayal at all.Jang was warned but he wouldn't listen. He imposed a candidate on his people and it backfired so nicely. He thought he was in control of everything,it was a clear example of the People's voice is God's,not betrayal at all.

GNS was a good product but in the wrong party. The precedence of J Jang was what brought about his failure. He promised to continue with the " redemption programme" of Jang which in it self is viewed as 'government without salary' by the civil servants. And this was instrumental to their failure.
