Six national electoral commissioners have been deployed to Imo State to ensure a free and fair supplementary governorship polls in the state tomorrow. The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Dr. Gabriel Ada, said this yesterday in Owerri. Ada stated that the deployment of the national electoral commissioners from Abuja was to strengthen the existing staff of the commission in the state to ensure that the conduct of the supplementary governorship poll was hitch-free.

He also said ad-hoc staff would not be used in the re-run election, adding that sensitive materials for the poll had arrived the state. Ada said out of a total of of 148,000 registered voters in the areas where the supplementary elections will hold, only 113,808 113,808 voters had collected their permanent voter cards (PVCs).
