This comparison has been trending for sometime now. I have read different arguments, and like to believe we can say it is actually a matter of grammar.

According to Merriam-Webster English Dictionary, the word "Comparison" has three meanings:

: the act or process of comparing: as
a : the representing of one thing or person as similar to or like another
b : an examination of two or more items to establish similarities and dissimilarities <his faults seem minor by comparison>

: identity of features : similarity <several points of comparison between the two>

3
: the modification of an adjective or adverb to denote different levels of quality, quantity, or relation

Essentially, the word "comparison" is used when evaluating the SIMILARITIES or DIFFERENCES between two entities.

So when comparing these two great men, Obafemi Awolowo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are you looking at their similarities or differences?

He is more for the party than for himself. Awolowo was UPN, nobody was ever given the presidential tickets aside him, but Tinubu is a thinker, a planner and a strategist.

Onafowora Kolaige::::: Just like as Tinubu is making more money for himself as he his fighting for Yoruba race Awolowo did so too...no body will be in this two men shoes that will not do so unless we are fooling ourselves here, but as for Nigeria today Tinubu remained our (Yoruba) great leader, we may not appreciate his efforts now not until he goes...far better than the Afenifebi that call them selves Afenifere.....

Jémiléhìn Olúwáseun Opéyemí::::: I've so much respect for Baba Awolowo and one can argue that since Tinubu is Baba's follower or political son it's expected that a son be greater than his father. Therefore, to me in comparing these two men, and I've said it several times, Tinubu is politically matured than Baba Awolowo having learnt from Baba's mistakes of politics of bitterness, though Tinubu has his shortcomings.

Dahiru Khadi::::: They are diametrically opposite in that Awolowo was a tribal selfless nationalist while Tinubu is a true nationalist who sees Nigeria beyond ethnic philosophy. In terms of use of influence, they both used state resources to deeply enhanced their wealth accumulation with avarice.

Great Men of our time!!!

Tinubu the Awolowo of our time, without sacrifice we cannot progress whether as a organisation or even a country so Tinubu is a great for shelving his ambition for the greater good of this country

Don't be fooled, both have different ideologies.

While one worked towards the all round development of the Yoruba people.

The other is doing everything within his power to make SW his family business (PLC).

Teaming up with the North is not rocket science. Nonetheless, I only respect jagaban because he's not a political prostitute.
