Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade, has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari over the death of electrocuted University of Lagos student.
Omotola has said that she is not happy with the way both the states and federal administration handles matters particularly when human lives are engaged.

According to her, the incumbent government keeps clamouring for change, yet they cannot show what they have been agitating about.

The actress frowned at the how the Lagos State government and the Federal government have kept silent over the sudden death of a 300 level student of the Accounting department of the Lagos University.

Omotola got angry over the matters after about three days gone; the administration was yet to publish a statement on the issue which according to her is a sign of ignorance and lack of respect for humanity.

She said: “A Nigerian student is electrocuted and no statement from both state and federal government? Do Nigerian lives matter? How is there ‘change’ when this government can’t show its people they are valued? Who do they work for? Cattles, Aliens? Negligence and lack of respect.”

A UNILAG student named Oluchi Anekwe died on Tuesday night, after being electrocuted to death when a high-voltage wire fell on her.

The management of the university shut down the school after the protests that broke out on September 9.

Anybody who still believes in any kind of change from APC/Buhari will believe anything. The only change I see is just a change of government...and a change of promises.

That's a nice one from her. Before the Apc e-rats start dissing her Omotola has shown her support for Buharis government previously but she isn't a blind follower like most Apc supporters. She commends when necessary and criticises when necessary. Thers a whole lot of truth in what she said

So if an accident occurs now its the work of government to hold a press conference over it. Come on bro they have other things to do. As this incident occurred in Unilag, the first responsibility lies with the school authorities, particularly the VC. It is from him/her to take responsibility for what happened and announce what steps would be put in place to prevent future occurrence. I don't really see how any reasonable person can expect the president to get involved in every incident that occurs on the grounds of a Federal institution or establishment.

One thing Nigerians need to understand, is that if we want real CHANGE, then we are ALL going to have to WORK for it. No leader, not Buhari, nor anyone else can bring change to every nook and corner of the country. We need to learn to hold the right people to account. If the teaching hospital is not clean, it's not Buhari's fault, it's the fault of the medical director. If the gutter is full and there's flooding it's not the fault of Buhari, it's the fault of the LG for not clearing the gutter......etc. Too Many people are getting away with not doing their jobs, while we blame all our problems on the occupant of Aso Rock.

Guess she should attack the school authorities and not the Federal/state govt. IMHO, i think she is trying to use this opportunities for political appointments at a later period

This one Omotola wants to bring herself to a new LOW! Why not attack the school authorities, to be specific the Utilities Department of the School and the Non Academic Staff. Either this article is trash or omotola is bereft of sensible reasoning. The school management should be the one releasing notes of apologies and cry on their knees.
