PWC completed it's audit on NNPC in November 28th 2014,then in January 2015 after the completion of the audit NNPC came to PWC to claim that out of the disrepancies an additional $1.5 billion related to Salaries and Benefits it forgot to include:
1)Additonal means extra,so the $1.5 billion implies NNPC wage bill is likely $3 billion or more dollars which I very much doubt
2)So throughtout the duration of the audit NNPC was not aware it had spent an additional $1.5 billion in wages it is after it had read PWC report and needing to make up for lost numbers now realised it had spent an extra $1.5 billion
3)This really need to be investigated how many "ghost workers" were responsible for this additional $1.5 billion

Excerpt from Report
Pipeline maintenance and management costs

Additional $2.8billion cost communicated by NNPC
After the submission of our initial report to the Auditor-General for the Federation on 28 November
2014, the following was brought to our attention by NNPC regarding Pipeline Maintenance and
Management Costs:
o
Initial submission made to the Senate Committee was understated and did not include all
the costs defrayed from the proceeds of domestic crude revenue by NNPC in accordance
with the NNPC Act. These costs also largely include the amounts incurred by the
Corporation’s subsidiaries.
o
The total additional costs amounting to $2.81billion was funded from domestic crude
revenue accruing from liftings of January 2012 to July 2013, and third party liabilities as
follows:

Total ($)
Salaries and benefits

This PwC saga has gotta be the biggest goats and yams party ever in the history of this country and it appears the DJ knocked himself out with so much liquor and had the music playing on auto, completely oblivious of the frenzy in the dance hall.

Heads just gotta roll.
