Buhari's Ban On AIT: Nigerians Are Not Fools by Nobody: 6:39pm On May 04, 2015 |
On the 26th of April, AIT Crew went to cover the meeting between the Cuban Ambassador and Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari. On arriving the Defence House (Abuja), the Buhari security team stopped AIT from accessing the premises. According to the security team, there is an order barring AIT from covering Buhari'es Event. Buhari's Media Aide Confirmed And Reitrates The Ban When asked, Alhaji Shehu Garba, Buhari's spokesman confirmed the ban on AIT. In his own word “AIT has been asked to stay aside based on security and family concerns. In addition, Buhari has decided that they will have to resolve some issues relating to issues of standard and ethics. “We will be talking with them to try and resolve the matter, but for now the station has been asked to stay aside, because like I said there are some family and security concerns. They have been asked to step down their coverage until we resolve the matter with them on ethics and standards.” When asked whether he should be quoted, Shehu said, “yes you can quote me that I said we have asked them to step aside and that we are resolving the issues of ethics and standards with them. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/hate-campaign-buhari-fights-back-bars-ait-from-covering-activities/ Buhari Denies Knowledge Through The Same Media Aide Though the ban was later to be reversed by the APC leadership after public condemnation, Buhari rather than apologise for his inglorious attempt to gag AIT crew from carrying out their responsibility, he chose to play and insult the sensibilities of Nigerians by shifting the blame to his "overzealous Aide". According to the Press release by Shehu Graba, Buhari instructed that only his media should deal with the press and "everyone should stay in their defined area of responsibility". The irony of it is that the Media Aide Alhaji Shehu Garba that sent the denial release is the same Shehu Garba that earlier said "Buhari has decided that they will have to resolve some issues relating to issues of standard and ethics." To show that Buhari was/is insincere, neither his media aide Shehu Garba nor any of his security team has been punished or reprimanded with respect to the ban. Also Shehu Garba is yet to withdraw his earlier statement where he quoted Buhari giving the ban order on AIT. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/182257-buhari-denies-barring-ait-blames-overzealous-aides.html Buhari Should Take Responsibility For His Action General Buhari with due respect should understand that Nigeria citizens are not fools. As a leader, he is responsible for every utterances that comes from his media aide especially when he is quoted to be involved. He should stop the policy of blame game and shifting his responsibilities to others. The President elect should stop taking us for granted and should be ready to accept his gaffe. A true leader is one that apologize and repent after committing blunder and not one that run away from his responsibilities. I hope the Buhari administration will not be a government of blame-game. I hope Buhari will come clean on issues that relates to him and his government when he takeover the reins of power. God Bless Nigeria Source: http://www.solomontonye.com/2015/05/on-26th-of-april-ait-crew-went-to-cover.html 17 Likes 2 Shares |

BabaOneChance is a rtd military general that act as if he has no balls He likes shifting the blame anytime it doesn't suit him and blame someone else for it Like, $1=N1, chibok girls, fighting boko haram within 2 months and so many more To me buhai is not a true leader because a true leader will not back out from his words even at the most difficult situation Modified: Soon children of hate and anger will see this as a attention seeking thread 16 Likes 2 Shares |

This is 2015 and not 1984. We condemn Buary and his team for attempting to revert to pre-democracy era in Nigeria. Buhary should note that draconian laws and degrees are no longer fashionable in the "new world order". In as much as we are praying that you succeed in your new role as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria when you assume office, we shall not fold our arms and allow you to truncate again our growing democracy like you did thirty one years ago. Buhari, be guided accordingly. Firefire! 11 Likes 3 Shares |

Mr Hypocrite He is not taking you for granted. At least the APC reversed the decision. Do you have any problem with that? See who is even talking about the General taking you for granted... Your Ijaw brother has taken us for granted for the past four years and put the country in a mess. Even when he was called to order, he obstinately refused to listen. His wife went up and down inciting hatred and you opened no thread to condemn the shameful act. Mr man, take a chill pill and watch the hate campaign put up by AIT /PDP before the elections. Looks like you are learning the hard way... 22 Likes |

The miracle worker and his Sai crowd might turn out to be the best tool Nigerians needed to educate themselves about democracy and the rule of law. Many of them forgot is not 1983, "with immediate effect" is unfortunately for them, not applicable here. Buhari and his supporters will learn, they have no choice but learn. 6 Likes 1 Share |

So judging by this thread, we can assume GEJ lied about that call to the Morrocan king too? Also, you should note that AIT deserves every treatment they get and you should also note that you do not know more than those involved. An AIT staff already clarified or do you say he was bribed or did he lie? If he did, how come he has not been fired? 6 Likes |

Too bad poster didn't spend this ammount of energy advising his mentor when there was still time to make a difference, perhaps Jonathan wouldn't have been so terrible. But instead we are using this energy to hound a man that has not even started his job yet. How very PDP-like, no sense of priority at all. Complaining about somebody smoking in your neighbour's compound when your own house is on fire. 11 Likes |

Freedom of expression is the bedrock of democracy and any attempt to tamper with it would be met with an outstanding defiance. I think Buhari should have known that this 2015 and not 1984.He is in for a big surprise after May 29th. Never again shall we allow any animal in khaki or in a civilian clothing to trample on our hard earned democracy. |
Re: Buhari's Ban On AIT: Nigerians Are Not Fools by Nobody: 7:19pm On May 04, 2015 |
arsetalks:Unlike Buhari's case, Jonathan did not only refute the claim, he also reprimanded the staff of the foreign affairs ministry that caused the controversy. It was neither Abati, Okupe nor any of Jonathan's Spokesmen that made the Morroco claim. It wasn't even the Foreign Affairs Minister neither is it the Spokesperson of the Minister. In Buhari's case, his security blocked AIT. Then his Spokesman confirmed the man and even went ahead to state that Buhari gave the order. In gfact, he said that he should be quoted anywhere. Spot the difference! |

Last year jonathan ordered state security agents to confiscate print copies of media publications he deemed hostile to his regime under the pretext of 'national security'. That way for days running, newsprint of media houses like dailytrust, leadership and the nation were seized en route to their distribution centres. It would be hypocritical of the TANoids to point an accusing finger at Buhari for a much lesser infringement on the freedom of the press. 3 Likes |
