Some of these Nairalanders are jokers. The same "Buhari's convoy" that held me and other motorists up in traffic near Nitel junction is now being praised because of this. Anyway let's wait till Buhari visits Lagos as president and see whether there won't be traffic jams as security operatives cordon off major roads to allow their convoys easy access. 1 Like |

floma07: This is all we have ever needed all these locust years of waste; a leader with integrity to lead by personal example. Hear Baba in his own words...... “without leadership by example, the ordinary citizens would become copycats of the lawlessness of their leaders. The arrogance of power, lawlessness and disregard for the rights and convenience of fellow citizens would have no place in his government, in a democracy, leaders should not inflict inconveniences and other unbearable ordeals on citizens for their own comfort" GEJ raped the dignity of the every day Nigerian for 6yrs with is clueless, wasteful, and corruption-embracing cum corruption-protecting style of rulership. Thank God I voted change!!! 1 Like |

That phrase"TRANSFORMATION" beclouded and brought Jonathan down. He completely forgot what "LEADERship" means - that is, leading by example. |

mcquin:yes sir I agree that we'v become lawless and we usually overdo things in nigeria. But as far as I no in d US 4 instance,d president doesn't obey traffic (especially outside washington DC) hence d protocol I gave in my previous post. Even as far as air traffic, d presidents plane is always given priority clearance 2 land or take off while others wait, except in states were he uses an airforce base. So if they can do that in d air which is safer, then it won't b a problem 2do it on land. I once read that in washing DC, d president uses a proprietary lane so as not 2 disturb other road users. D xperience of kennedy's assasination and d almost successful attempt on reagans life on US soil still hunts d secret service. So there are certain chances they don't take. Its much more easier †☺ take out a stationary target compared 2a moving one. This is d thinking behind most presidents not obeying traffic lights. But am not saying this should b an excuse 4 every tom dick and harry in nigeria 2 beat traffic 1 Like |

truthfulguy: The present Catholic Pope does it (moves around on open motorcade) despite the assassination attempt on John Paul II in 1982. The truth of the matter is that the best form of leadership is by example because children easily imitate what they see and not what they hear. Every good leader like an honest father should be ready to die for the sake of showing his children/the masses the correct way to follow. Sai our one and only baba!!! Remember the "strong" Abacha died in his room, our prayer at all times, whether for the president or the traffic warden at Ojuelegba is for God to protect them from the evil ones at all times. 2 Likes |

drnoel: It's you who isn't getting the point of a leader leading by example. Let's wait for 2 months into GMB'S Presidency, let's see that person whom they born well to float the rules of decency and the rule of law on our roads that GMB himself subjects himself to. Change has truly come, and its here to stay! 1 Like |

manutdadex:True bros but I don't think buhari is still an "ordinary citizen". Although d president elect has no constitutional duties, everything around him changed upon winning d election. 4 instance he no longer operates from a private residence. D protocol is that he moves into D Defence House, a govt residential building meant 4 presidents in waiting. His security, upkeep and other logistics also become d responsibility of govt. Level has changed. Not beating traffic, I think its a personal decision cos av seen people not as important as a president elect like some big pastors, rich bizmen, bank MDs beat traffic because they have siren and a few policemen 1 Like |

write2obi: Point of correction, Buhari is yet to be president and constitution does not recognise a President-elect. He becomes that from 29th of May. For now he is a President-elect and an ordinary man like everyone else. I wish he is able to replicate this with the presidential retinue, that will be good for the country then. 1 Like |
