I think of course speak your language but PLEASE for the sake of those around you, don't speak so loud. And I'd say the same for anyone regardless of whether they are speaking the Queen's own English or French. |

If you choose to speak your language loudly in public (most Nigerians practically bellow) then yes, it becomes offensive. Another thing - it's rude to whisper in the company of others, if you exclude them. The same can be said about speaking in a language not common to the company you're in. |
