My own driving started inside the compound but i never graduate reach main road

The first time I took a car out on the street after much practice in the compound I was driving a zigzag pattern and other cars were flashing ligths and jumping outta the way for me. I even remember one guy who jump the gutter by the road to save himself.
It was my mums 504 and I was 13 then.
Nice experience.

After inside our compound self-training sessions with my father's VW Passat, I decided it was time to hit the streets just to show my friends I'm the newest big boy in town. On getting just outside the gate after about 3 non successful trials, saw my older brother running like Usain Bolt towards the car shouting "icho egbu nmadu" meaning "you wan kill person". He dragged me out of the car not without a heavy slap though. That was how he saved the day for me. Nobody knows what would have happened.

I think the incident helped me to gather morale to perfect my driving skills secretly.

I got inside my dad's Peugeot 504 station wagon, took it for a spin, before then i only drive around the neighbourhood.

I was on top speed and started overtaking "Mercedes Benz" and "Toyota's" on the road.
For my little jjc driver mind, i was like, how can my dead bit Peugeot run faster than "classy" Benz and toyota?
Something must be wrong. Its not possible"!


So I decided to press the break... allow them to overtake me and then I will follow them. (For my mind dem senior me for road).

I sharply applied the break and the next thing I was hit from behind by the Toyota and off I went into the bush.

I cried like a Christmas fowl that day cos my dad will skin me alive knowing I took his beloved 504 out not to talk of bashing it.

Luckily the Peugeot wasn't affected by the bump. The toyota on the other hand was a bit distorted.

I learnt hard that day, the speed of a car is not necessarily determined by the make or the outward appearance...the driver and the engine are the "devils" that control how fast a car goes....that was my first and only "bash" story so far.
