Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, former governor of Abia State and a leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Friday alleged that only the North and the South-west had credible election in the last election with results from South-South and South-East largely written at home. The former governor made this claim during the investiture of Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State as Verbatim Magazine Man of the Year at Giginya- Coral Hotel, Sokoto. Onu stated that democracy could only thrive where votes of the people are made to count. Dr. Onu pushed for the use of electronic voting to enable conduct of all elections on the same day as this would facilitate the conduct of credible elections in the country. He described Wamakko as a “Man of masses”, who worked relentlessly to look after those who ordinarily could not look after themselves.
