Even the greatest democracy in the world America don't condone mutiny, treat them with kid gloves and see results of the signal you're sending to the rest law abiding soldiers.

They refused to fight for a Christian president, why should Christian soldiers fight for Buhari in future?

Its not like they didn't know the consequences of mutiny, 99% of the soldiers in Nigeria agreed with the sentence. For committing mutiny they should be served with the best Thai rice from Hilton hotel abi?
Don't mind them.

They signed up for something and decided to haul asss thereby endangering their fellow brothers in arms.

The worst thing that can happen to any military formation is mutiny.Imagine where a fellow soldier drops his gun and flee from battle - it can be both demoralizing and a negative influence in the minds of other men in arms.

We all know that battles are usually won by the will power and zeal of men and women in arms who are ready to kill and be killed for their country and homeland, yet these cowards fled from their duty post.
Mutiny and sabotage is a death sentence , they should face the consequences for their actions let it serve as a deterrent to other would-be deserters.

They fought with bare hands,in return see how our government paid them for their selfless sacrifice.

With God and Falana,keep hope alive.

They'll regain their freedom.

Of course you were there when they were fighting with bare hands.Sometimes you guys talk from your anus.

Our lawless nature should not be tolerated in our military on the alter of political brouhaha.

They screwed up and they must pay the price - This is the military and not your owambe dance group.

I really do respect your opinion but mutiny is not treated with kid gloves any where in the world.
Added to this fact is the knowledge most of these soldiers probably did what they did because of religious inclination.

Stupidd man,he doesnt know what mutiny is.Next the will start giving easy passage to boko harem and appealing for their release.I always knew Buharis govt was a snake.May God expose him and destroy this son.of mohammed the sexual predator and pedophile
Is it that you can't read or lack comprehension? Falana states clearly that the the army act says the FG will arm soldiers adequately. The soldiers protested that they were not adequately armed. Is the army, and by extension, the FG, not culpable? During the same period, didn't the FG say it's facing difficulties buying arms to fight Boko Haram?

In the military you always obey the last order even to the death.

No country around the world takes it lightly .

Most countries would have them shot within 24 hrs to send a message to the entire formation that this can't be tolerated and you have a constituted authority in place.
They should shoot them asap and keep the sanctity of the military intact.

This is from the US army:

(a) "Any person subject to this chapter who--
(1) with intent to usurp or override lawful military authority, refuse, in concert with any other person, to obey orders or otherwise do his duty or creates any violence or disturbance is guilty of mutiny;

(2) with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance against that authority is guilty of sedition;

(3) fails to do his utmost to prevent and suppress a mutiny or sedition being committed in his presence, or fails to take all reasonable means to inform his superior commissioned officer or commanding officer of a mutiny or sedition which he knows or has reason to believe is taking place, is guilty of a failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition.

Consequences:
(b) A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny, sedition, or failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct."

No country would allow its soldiers to revolt, recipe for disaster.

Exactly , you can't afford to have thousands of men and women with arms not to be taking orders from somebody.
It's a recipe for disaster.

Why have they waited till now, in saner societies the court martial would be quick and precise and the next step is to have their fellow men in arms from the same formation shoots them in the presence of everyone and every rank and file falls into line.
