Actually this movie was based on a 1978 book by Danielle Steel titled The Promise. I am not sure whether they were given copyright permission or not. I have good memories of the movie, though. I got the soundtrack off Amazon - brilliant!

Wow! Good memories.
On a funny note, about 2 years ago I was watching Seeta Aur Geeta with my mum when she started laughing all of a sudden. I was like this scene isn't funny, so why the laughter? She then explained that in those days when she first watched that movie, there was no subtitle, so she and her siblings were just using idea to follow. What really happened in that scene was totally different from what they had thought, and that made her laugh.

Lol. Those movies came on VHS then, nothing like DVDs or VCD. No subtitles, even if there will be, its gonna be in other Hindu languages.

Yes I remember "promise","The burning train",etc. Indian films were very common then in nigeria,later Mexican telenovela like "0the Rich Also Cry",When you're mine" and now lots and lots of Indian movies on Zee world. I recognize some of those faces though.

Oh I remember it alright!
Suniat, Vikram and Rita;
Sunita and vikram and their secret handshake and their promise of never leaving eachother until accident wipes out sunita's face and she has another one not recognised by vikram and he marries rita but they recognise each other when sunita sang a sad song and narrates the accident and her loss of her natural face.
Very emotional movie!
Others I love are: ghazab, love in Tokyo, The great Gambler, Jugnu, ande ka noon, amal akbar anthony, loha, Toofan, Mard, Mother India, the Burning Train, sholay.. Good old daysm9lean and decent films until American films took over and brought nudity!

You are such a big rude fool. Its simply amazing how small your sense is. Did he complain to you about his TV?

Please,stop bothering yourself over this guy. Haven't you heard that an empty barrel makes the loudest noise? People like him are so poor but come to social media to act like he's big. Else,common sense will tell him that all hands are truly not equal but he lacks even the basic of sense. You guys are giving him too much importance.
