The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and governors of the 36 states of the country have kept on exchanging words over charges that the active organization has not represented about $20 billion that was acknowledged as abundance unrefined incomes in the most recent two years.Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, managing director of the World Bank

The governors, under the stage of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, on Tuesday requested that the Minister give clarifications regarding what happened to about $20 billion that accumulated in the Excess Crude Account amid the period.

Introducing the report toward the end of the meeting in Abuja, Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, said individuals from the discussion was keen on knowing from the Minister how the gathered income was dispensed.

"In the light of the way that subsidizes in the Excess Crude Account were last dispensed in May 2013, there is requirement for the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to give clarifications to accumulations to this record from June 2013 to April 2015, which is evaluated at over $20 billion," Mr. Amaechi said.

At the same time, on Tuesday, the Minister responded furiously to the interest by the 36 state governors, portraying it as peculiar.

The Minister, through her representative, Paul Nwabuikwu, said there was no premise for such an interest to be made in any case, not to mention the expressed sum.

"The announcement by the governors is absolutely odd, on the grounds that FAAC (Federation Accounts Allocation Committee) meets consistently and the ECA (Excess Crude Account) is talked about at each session with all the state Commissioners of Finance present. Nothing is concealed," Mr. Nwabuikwu said.

As indicated by Mr. Nwabuikwu, amid the FAAC gatherings the Minister of State, Bashir Yuguda, who is the Chair of FAAC, normally declared the offset in the ECA before being examined.

He said governors who need any data about the ECA ought to request points of interest from their different Commissioners for Finance and Accountants-Generals who might be in a superior position to have the records of what was examined and settled upon.

Additionally, points of interest of the ECA, Mr. Nwabuikwu said, are normally distributed consistently alongside the portions to the three levels of government.

On the governors' reference to June 2013 as the last time record was rendered on the framework, Mr. Nwabuikwu said it is presumably on the grounds that the National Economic Council last met in May 2013.

"It is intriguing that Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State why should reported have read the dispatch for the governors made a comparative unconfirmed charge in November 2013 that $5 billion was absent from the ECA," Mr. Nwabuikwu said.

When my Governor, Governor Amaechi was shouting about the thieving going on under GEJ's watch, they were all abusing My Governor. calling him a betrayal, calling him a Rebel Governor, saying he does not respect Mr President. But today what is happening? Even those governors supporting GEJ have come to support my Governor, Governor Amaechi. Whether we like it or not, Amaechi has printed his name on the sand of history when it comes to politics in this country. U can't call yourself a man when u cannot speak out on any matter affecting u and ur people. Amaechi is my Hero.

Amaechi should explain how he spent the ECA that accrued to him aside the federation allocation, its preposterous that the governors who couldn't pay salries or make any major contribution to their respective states are passing the buck of their failures around

Amechi brings nothing positively inventive to governance. He might know how to galvanise support for a candidate or how to insult a sitting president to no end but in terms of delivering serious services, he always comes short. . He was the reason the soveriegn wealth fund was/is seriously undrfunded right from the get go. He even kicked vigourously against the idea from the onset. He wanted the whole stuff in the ECA shared amongst his utterly corrupt colleagues. Essentially, all Amaechi was interested in is on how to share all accrued earnings so he can have enough funds to buy a 50 million dollar private jet while funding the multi billion naira presidential campaign of one senile illiterate.

doesn't that depend on if they have the right version of brain to process and separate what makes sense from what doesn't?

for instance, people like you will have to wait for eternity; since you simply fall into the category of people with the analogue type of brain version, fit only for the museum.
