Remember the man who slumped while jugging along Stepping Stone bus stop in Satellite town Lagos yesterday morning?. The man has died. A close family friend said the man, who has been identified as Sunny Enebong, died yesterday. He probably suffered a heart attack but didn't get help in time because instead of calling an ambulance, passersby surrounded him and was just staring at him. So sad. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

I am sure all the onlookers do not know how to call an Ambulance. If they had eventually rushed him to a nearby hospital, the hospital might reject him and refer him to a government hospital. Getting to a government hospital, the doctors and the nurses might just ignore the man to his fate.

Nigeria still has a long way to go honestly. God help us.

RIP to the man.

Its not as simple as that.
There are 2 main fears and correctly so any person so skilled or even ordinary helpers have in Nigeria:
(1)You try to help and d person gives up: you would b shocked to d number of people that would now cite d helper as d cause of death of d victim and your life is forever changed, assuming u are lucky to get out of d case.
(2)The police in Nigeria can even make d most strong willed to ignore a victim of a crime or medical issue. They are so horrible that d helper most times becomes d accused, gets thumped in jail and if lucky spends enormous sums to secure bail, just because he/she acted d good Samaritan.
Nigerians are a nice caring lot but ignorance and a totally bankrupt police system makes many to act over cautiously.

Sad story!

Some people live a life of excess (docility, drinking, smoking, junk food and lots of ishi-ewu), and they think they can just wake up one morning and start strenuous exercise like they're training for the Olympics! You need to ease yourself gently into training, while eliminating all those bad habits you previously had! And it's also advisable to get a medical assessment first!
