Pray, tell us you didn't just compare the UAE to Lagos

inspbado:
To all those folks up there asking "how many people in Lagos can afford to get a place in this Eko Atlantic city?" I ask them "how many Emeratis can afford to stay at the burj kalifa or al buraj in Dubai?"because you will find out that its mostly the super rich citizens and tourists that stay there. What most of us don't get is that you spend money(lots of it) to make more money. Lagos state needs to open up more revenue streams to be able to take care of its needs. Just imagine the taxes alone that this project will generate when completed; the jobs to be created by the service sectors maintaining it, its tourism potentials and so also the prestige it gives Nigeria in the international community, knowing fully well that the perception of the white man( and other non blacks out there) is that "can anything good come out of Africa?". In fact, you know what? If its even just to show to the rest of the world that the blackman is not totally "dumb", and can use his brain to do something worthwhile(apart from evil), omo I'm totally down with this project abeg!!!! Lol

Ghana is planning to build a 75 storey building, so I doubt it be the tallest. Potentially, it is looks like it might be the most beautiful in Afirca.

Chief go through my post again, nowhere did I compare Lagos to Dubai. I made reference to those places in Dubai to highlight the fact that in different societies in the world not all citizens can afford luxury goods, like some are arguing on this thread; however, though they cannot afford luxury goods, these people (my humble self inclusive; for now wink nonetheless benefit from such luxury goods; they can sell the goods, service/maintain them etc for those who can afford them. And the government also gets taxes from these kinds of goods and the taxes are used for the good of the society. Simples

Don't be dumb. this is a private investment.

Akpabio is the best cos A/Ibom & Lagos didn't start the race at the same point.

Go there and see
Based on some of the videos I saw your yesterday, I have to agree with you on that one. Akpabio seem to have turn that place around, although we must not ignore they have similar budget to Lagos. Nevertheless, I am still impress.

Smh!! Again it's not only when you can afford to live there that it's beneficial to you. Tell me what you do and I'll tell you how this project will be beneficial to you. Just because everyone in a nation cannot live in a particular neighborhood doesn't mean that neighborhood shouldn't be created. So you think because the school district in one part of a city is bad, it should stop projects going on in other more affluent parts of the city.
Please step out a little bit and see how things work, how wealth is created.
