As Nigeria witness another democracy day,a day Nigeria will witness the 1st handover from one political party to another in this democratic dispensection.
Goodluck Jonathan will be bidding Aso rock villa goodbye for the 1st time since 2007.Nigeria will not forget in a hurry the hero of democracy,a person who sacrificed his ambition for the peace of this country,a gentleman who proved American intelligent report wrong about the disintegration of this country in 2015,the only man who changed the view of the whole world about African leaders and their quest for power. Though ur political enermies have refused to see any good thing in you even when vividly written on the wall,but posterity will vindicate you. Your giant strides in office are too numerous to mention....is it Economy,Agriculture,Education,Transportation,Employment,Power,Security,Health, or Sports?. Below are some of the achievements despite the distraction from all angles.
1.Under his watch,Nigeria became the best economy in Africa.
2. Nigeria is now ranked as the 3rd fastest growing economy.
3. The 1st West African country to host World Economic Forum.
4. World Bank poverty rate in Nigeria dropped from 35.2 to 33.1%.
5. Revival of the comatose railway system of transportation.
6. Remodelling,beaultification and standardization of airports across the country.
7. Establishment of 9 federal universities.
8. Upgrade of Federal colleges of education to Federal universities.
9. Computerizing education with introduction of computer bases test in JAMB.
10. Transformation of Agricultural sector.
11. Making Nigeria the highest cassava producing country.
12. First ever 2.9million metric tons of rice production.
13. Granting lones to Farmers without interest.
14. Reduction of food importation by 40%.
15. Arresting the outbreak of the deadly and highly contagious Ebola virus disease.
16. Zero case of polio since july 2014. 17. Revival of dead automotive industry...Peogeut,Nissan and Hyundai are now assembling and manufacturing in Nigeria.
18. First made in Nigeria car by Innoson.
19. Introduction of e-ID card which serve as both international identification module and for electronic payment.
20. Introduction of cashless system to reduce the volume of physical cash in circulation.
21. Unbundling of the dysfunctional PHCN into about 18 profit-driven companies.
22. According priority to 35% affirmative action of women in Government.
23. Non interference in rule of law/due process.
24. Fighting for free and fair election by not interferring in INEC activities. 25. Prosecution of fuel subsidy thieves.
26. Promotion and practice of true democracy.
27. Sustainance of amnesty programm.
28. Liberation of press and guranteeing the freedom of speech. 29. Initiation of YOUWIN aimed at generating over 100000 jobs.
30. Lifting of African Cup of Nation by super eagles.
31. Finishing 8 at the just concluded 2014 common wealth games in glasgow.....The list is endless.
