How Many More Deaths? How Long Shall We Mourn? by Nobody: 9:04am On Jun 05, 2015
It is not just sad and painful, it is also disgraceful and demeaning that Nigeria's North East, especially Borno state has gradually assumed the title of "Global Capital of Bomb blast" in recent times. At least Six attacks have been recorded with its attendant loss of lives and properties, and has left scores injured and many traumatised.

When will all these come to end? How long should the people of Borno state and environs mourn? How long shall the people of North East live in fear and trauma?

In what started in 2009 as a ragtag uprising during the administration of late Yar'adua, BH grew in strength and stature under exPresident Jonathan's administration, the group have not only grown a thick skin but have been wrecking havoc and damages up till this present administration.

Just like exPresident Jonathan, incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari gave Nigerians hope when in April 1, 2015 he promised to crush BH within two months when he get to power. According to the President “We know how they started and where they are now and we will rapidly give attention to security in the country. And I believe we will effectively deal with them in two months when we get into office.". The Present further reiterated the hope of Nigerians in his May 29, inauguration address when he declared that “The command center(of the military) will be relocated to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued.”.

Today marks the eighth day since that statement was made, neither have we seen the "command center" moved to Maiduguri nor have we recorded progress in the North Eastern war. Nigerians and the North East people need the government to swing into immediate action to stem the rising tide of insecurity in the region. Though the President is said to have visited Chad and Niger republics to solicit cooperation from these States, he should put in place interim measures to arrest this dire situation. Nigerians cannot afford to lose more lives to the terrorist group. We can't continue to die while we wait for a "master plan" to be drawn and implemented.

The life of every law abiding Nigerian is very important. The onus is on the President and no one else to subdue and expel the terrorists. Mr President cannot afford to fail.

May God grant the wisdom to the President, and may He (God) spare our lives from violent and untimely death(Amen).

This ridiculous new-found crocodile tears by TANiods is very porous and lame. The vigorious attempt to cast a 6days old administration as a failure is very dubious and shameless.

1. It is on record that over 15,000 Nigerians died as a result of Boko Haram exploits under Jonathan. And it is disgraceful that the same OP that is implying that Buhari has failed is one of Jonathan's loudest singers.

2. President Buhari has made the restoration of security and the defeat of Boko Haram his first agenda. Even on his inauguration address, he sounded it loud and clear.

3. Apart from announcing the moving of the Command Centre to the troubled region, PMB has also met with the Nation's Service Chiefs to assemble a marshal plan for the fight ahead.

4. Just yesterday, President Buhari returned from his visit to Niger and Chad where he went for a meeting to ensure that the fight against Boko Haram is coordinated from all angle.

5. President Buhari has also been meeting with many prominent Nigerians across political divides all in the bid to harmonize efforts, ideas and action plans.

TANiods who are yet to brace up to the reality that their paymasters have been kicked out by Nigerians after years of perpetual failure, looting and under-development, have been jumping from one to wordpress to brandish this gossip and lies - aimed to depict President Buhari as a failure.

One thing is certain - to TANiods, Boko haram, Looters, kidnappers, armed robbers, etc - President Buhari will deal with all lawlessness. Forget your crocodile tears, Nigeria will be great again. Nigeria will overcome all the destruction PDP brought upon us.

I think it's a bit unfair to blame the current administration for now. Ideally, a proper structure should've been planned by Jonathan to enable a smooth transition between both administration. As it was, there wasn't so effectively the country was like an headless chicken during the past few weeks, hence why it's been really difficult for the current administration to hit the ground running.

He gave a deadline,,2 months,,,its less than a week since he became president...GMB body language suggest he plans to crush this insurgents once and for all, hence his recent visits to chad and Niger republic....boko haram's military m has been drastically liquidated during the last days of GEJ'S presidency, the evidence is in their latest video,,shekau's absence says it all...this will all be over soon....

Why are you so insensitive? The President said he will end it in two months and not "start it in two months". So people should continue to die till after two months when he "wave the magic wand"? Beside, the President was sworn-in on May 29. Today marks his eighth day in office.

Nigga....go get a life. You've outspent your e-relevance abeg. Infact, you need to start keeping stock of PMB's per second activities and thought process.

We all yearn for changes and the crushing of BH and corruption...but not with nitties like you being sadistically pessimitic and retrogressive.

There is always a process for everything, and we have to wait for the process. A youth like you shld know better

BH terroristts were almost annihilated when GEJ handed over to Buhari.

But the rate of bombing these days is so alarming. The FG needs to do something fast.

It is a shame that there are attack dogs that specialise in pouring their venom on anyone that voice concern about the present administration. I don't live in the NE, I haven't lost a relative or any known friend to BH insurgency. I'm not even a Muslim nor a Northerner, but my concern is for the sake of humanity, patriotism and brotherhood

You are so right, please help us beg the sponsors from PDP to slow down as more that enough blood has been spilled. As a matter of fact, I though GEJ said he had flushed them out within that 6 weeks and beyond and that Sambisa has been cleared. That was one of his other scam again I guess.

The problem with Buhari is that he talks from two sides of his mouth. One day Buhari would be screaming an attack on boko haram is an attack on the north, the next day he'd be saying he'd end the insurgency in 2 months. He's now saying he didn't promise to end the insurgency within two months. When is Buhari going to say something and mean it?

You are not been realistic with your concern, he was sworn in less than a week and you are expecting BH that the last administration failed to put an end to in 6 years to be overhauled within a week. Stop using humanity as a tool for your sentiment, we all want peace but lets be objective.

If you say "PDP are sponsors", it is incumbent on President Buhari to arrest these "PDP Sponsors". It is also incumbent on Buhari to implement interim solution pending when he's done with his global trotting. Citizens hold incumbents responsible to their task and not exLeaders.

I think you need to comprehend. Nowhere in the article did I say he should end it just after 8 days. I only mean he should arrest the "growing" bombings and implement interim solution. How long will it take the Command Center to relocate? Why blame Jonathan?

What about Jonathan blaming Yaradua for allowing Shekau to escape? Then Yaradua blaming Obj for doing nothing when Modu Sheriff was recruiting BH boys?

Good citizens hold their leaders to task... Did Buhari win election via blame game?

Incase you missed the memo, the first major thing he has done is try to secure the porous border around Niger and Chad and solicit support or probably warn them on ensuring that the borders are not used as a route for the perpetuation of terrorist acts on the territories of Nigeria under his protection. Note that he did not wait for 6 weeks to election to do this.

Moreover, one of the suspected sponsor of boko haram is presently in EFCC net (former bornu state governor), so please beg your benefactors to cease fire and stop using boko haram to decimate the north, it did not work in the last election.
