Dele Ogundele-Lagos, 45 Akapo Street, Omole, Lagos. +2348139001: What happened at the National Assembly on Tuesday was a coup d’état against Nigerians by the people that once teamed up against Muhammadu Buhari’s candidacy as the torch-bearer of the All Progressives Congress. They vilified him, maligned him, and resorted to hate campaigns and propaganda against his person and other principal officers of his party till the last day of the election that brought him to power.

Even following his obvious victory, these people were still saying ‘’Buhari would not do anything, or succeed’’ and to achieve this, the “hawks” mobilised themselves like wounded lions arising out of the outright defeat of their party to extract their pound of flesh. For instance a look at the pattern of the take- over of the National Assembly clearly shows the amalgam of the South-East, South-South, and the North-Central who were the immediate past government’s strong supporters.

The only slight difference is that they could not bring back the former President Goodluck Jonathan to continue; even those making conciliatory comments about this aberration never apprised the legality of the election process. That is, did the Senate form a quorum? Were the ostracised senatorial representatives across the country lawful; even without a formal proclamation by President Buhari?

This synchronised old order cannot move Nigeria forward and we as a nation should begin to consider going back to regionalism. Let all the six zones move forward and develop at their own pace in the commonwealth of Nigeria. As this incessant national rigmarole each time Nigerians are about to forge ahead in unity is usually cancerous.

Arrant nonsense!

When SW decided to always betray the South which it is part of, always running to align with the North just to spite Igbos, what treatment does it expect.

This is just d beginning. The Arewas never cease to tell you to your faces that they conquered you, that you are conquered people. The Buhari presidency will clearly show the place of SW in Nigeria politics. More loading...

I'm so fvcking tired of Idiots like you who keeps on denigrating the Yoruba tribe and calling them betrayals. Do we have any sort of agreement with you mentally deranged fools? You voted your choice, we voted ours. Your fellow tribesmen (Azikwe et al.) have been aligning with the Gambaris since time immemorial, but you hypocrites have never condemned them. How does our choice and pattern of voting affects you dickhead? please, answer me. Stop blaming all your woes, failures and misfortunes on the Yoruba, fool!

When SE and SS or upper zambezi or what are you calling yourselves, connived to betray SW, it was right and when the same SW paid you back in your coin, it is wrong.

Hypocrisy!!!!!!!

Get over the loss.

Some people are truly dumb. So because they felt cheated because their lord tinubu was humiliated. .. they are now calling for regionalism

That is the height of ethnocentrism.

All the high hopes the SW had in this govt has crashed in quick succession.
Osubande have been treated like a house boy so far, tinubu's wing has been clipped,
Osun has become the mockery of all states begging for food and aids from all that care to listen.
The ones in lagos are crying over suppression by the ibos

This is a time not to be a Southwesterner

When igbo people always present unintelligent thieves as candidate all the time look at your state before you complain.
What you fail to understand is that we don't follow people blindly every yoruba man has his own mind and can not be manipulated , that is why people don't understand us.

For those that did colonial systems of govt in sec school, let me refresh ur memories. It was a success in the north because the whites fully controlled it and a partial success in the west.It was a total failure in the east because the igbos refused to be slaves or serve any one. This is a genetic makeup that still runs in the blood to this day.The north will definitely put the sw to where they belong. As for the Igbo, its either our way or No way .
