The Former National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, Dan Nwanyanwu stated that the leadership tussle rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, was an indication that the party was a marriage of strange bedfellows.

He likened the party to salt that had lost its taste adding that the crisis was the beginning for the battle for the 2019 Presidency.

The former LP Chairman who stated this on Thursday during an interactive session on the Channels Television programme tagged “Sunrise Daily” maintained that the APC was like a tree that refused to bear fruit and cannot translate their mantra of “change” into action.

Earlier an attempt by 59 APC Senators to resolve their differences over the sharing of the remaining four principal positions in the Senate failed, leadings to exchange of physical combats and insults on the floor of the Upper Chamber.

Senate President Bukola Saraki had shortly after the plenary session announced that the APC Senators would meet ‎at his meeting Room 301 to sort out the matter.

It was learnt that at the meeting, it was made clear that ‎the positions had been allocated to geo-political zones, and the APC Senators from those zones were asked to agree among themselves and produce acceptable persons to fill the positions.

While the Senators under the aegis of Like Minds Senators ‎insisted on the zonal arrangement, the Unity Forum which supports Senator Ahmed Lawan was opposed to it as they insisted that those nominated by the APC leadership to take the positions should be allowed to do so.

While speaking Nwanyawu who indicated no surprise at the turn of events, likened the APC to a hunter had gone to the forest without deciding on a particular animal to kill only to end up killing a nameless one.
