APC: A Bed Of Strange Fellows. by luciomoggi(m): 1:49pm On Jun 27, 2015
When the APC was busy welcoming politicians of differing political ideologies and philosophies into it's fold, it was clear it was a "Marriage of necessity amongst warlords with non-synchronised political orientation". This was the fear of Nigerians on the merger called APC but some patriotic ones thought otherwise assuming that the APC will remain intact having worked and fought so hard to dislodge incumbent PDP. It was only when Senator Bukola Abubakar Saraki was voted as the new Senate President in a sham election did Nigerians realise the "Change" slogan of the APC may be as far as the Israelites exodus from Egypt to Canaan in the Bible. This is because, Saraki could not be seen and trusted as an agent of "Change" when he was once charged by the EFCC of mismanaging about #65billion which accrued to the Kwara state from the Federation Account between April 2003 - June 2008 when he presided as it's Governor (2003-2011). There is also another corruption charge on Saraki that plagued his time as the Director in the defunct Societe Generale Bank Nigeria (SGBN) during which unsecured loans up to the tune of #250 millilon were given to the PDP. It was also alleged that during the most critical period of the bank , Saraki acquired 15 luxurious cars including a Ferrari. He also purchased Two houses in London one for £10 million and also another located on 70 Bourne Street, London SW1W 8JW worth £4.2 million. Saraki never appeared in court and neither did none of his family members (Sister Gbemi and Father Olusola) even when the charges were brought against them after SGBN went bankrupt. Saraki's election victory is therefore a shared responsibility of negligence between the APC and PDP. People who accuse the APC on allowing such a man with a "Stained" past in their fold should realise that he was elected by more than 95% PDP votes. Hence, the PDP loyalists can't make a mockery of the APC "Change" with Saraki when it is clear PDP en masse elected him to head them. It is clear the APC knew so much about his antecedents and hence did not want him near the Senate Presidency but the instability in the APC played into the PDP's hands . In as much as Nigerians may detest the imposition nature of the APC leadership, none should be proud that someone with a past like Saraki is in charge of the legislative arm of government. Why couldn't the PDP come up with another Senator out of a massive 109 members. The point is that both the PDP and APC have failed the electorate and this is a big loss for the "Change" campaign. With the recent hustle, fights and tussle for principal officers of the National Assembly, It is then clear that Saraki is hiding something up in his sleeves. Conspiracy theory have it that he is positioning himself for the 2019 Presidential elections but that is more than difficult to fathom because a presidency of Saraki cannot be sold to the Southern part of the country and it remains to be seen if the core North will accept him as one of their own as history has proved time and time again. What ever his motives, it seems his days are numbered. By Ewah Chika "Lucio MoGGi II". Source: http://mailtelegraph..com/2015/06/apc-bed-of-strange-fellows.html?m=1 .
