I guess staffs of Army, Navy, Airforce and Police children schools will not be affected since they are not profit motive but to cater for the welfare of the staff, and their school fees is near free. |

Xano: please read the story again. Federal primary and secondary school will continue to be paid by federal government. State primary and secondary school will continue to be funded from the state allocation! The news is about the primary and secondary schools owned by federal universities for university staff. Federal government is saying universities should pay for university staff secondary school. 1 Like |

I hope this action cuts across all sectors of the nation's economy. However, the sector of government that is over-bearing on the nation's budget is the salaries and allowances of our legislature and executive members. 8.4 billion for just agbada?!!! The tailors in Abuja should be living large like celebrities. |

whyipa: Is either you've never attended a tertiary institute or you ignorant or naïve or just want to be silly and retarded! You premises are flawed which makes your arguement invalid. I can tell you some top universities make more revenue than some state IGR! So why can't they pay their staff schools? Which they even collect fees from the parent of these wards. Ma'guy never enter school before so stop feigning your ignorance to the world. |

otunba9ja: The 2009 agreement? How are we sure of that? And if there's a standing agreement, why would SSANU threaten to go on strike?
Stating that a decision is final doesn't seem like there was any negotiated agreement. |

ThisMeansWAR:Yes oh. Unilag for instance. The ISL (International School Lagos) is the secondary school for the staff children and the moneyy dey charge to non-staff children is exorbitant coupled wit what d staff children pay so why can't dey run these schools wit d monies dey collect? Why shd dey collect monies from students and den govt pays salaries to workers? Where den do dey put d monies collected? 2 Likes |

Although I think this might be a good direction in cutting cost for the FG. Already the FG have unity schools they are funding so which one be staff sch again. Also it will interest is to know that these staff sch pay high tuition eg UNIBEN staff sec. sch, what does the university do with these money. It's like the university opens an avenue to get revenue for themselves and then ask the FG to pay for labour. Well things should still be done properly, so that parents, children and staffs shouldn't suffer unnecessarily. |
