Check out the reasons for our anger.
This is Buhari's appointment to date.

Looking at it from an outsider's perspective, Buhari seems ultimately like an American appointment. If so, he Buhari wouldn't care for Nigerian peoples opinions since he has the support of the Americans and will appoint whomever he wants without the moderating hands of sensitivity. America does not care for Africans, it surprises me that many Nigerians think America is on their side. Even on Beegeagels blog I'm beginning to perceive a shift to this pro America thinking. Nigerians should ask themselves why America has done nothing for Liberia, ostensibly an America colony in Africa. America cares nothing for democracy in Africa (perhaps we're too primitive, irrelevant and expendable) only cares for polices in Africa that are to its favor- whatever those may be. Looking at things with an outsiders perceptions, Buhari could be thought of as actually having a contempt for Nigeria as a Nation if he is willing to do what is needed to have America's backing. Which means he, Buhari could be construed as caring only for power and since he is by all accounts personally honest, it is not inconceivable that his burning drive is to see the restoration of the dignity of his Northern kinfolks, which the ascension to power of Goodluck Johnathan disrupted. Since the world has moved on, sectionalism is a small ambition that will lead to a regim that has to pad out government because it hadn't considered wider policies sufficiently.

Looking at things from this perspective, Nigeria probably had a minor revulsion without realizing, and that was the last administration for all its faults. Then, Nigerians had a leader that was truly Nigerian, wart and all. Now, Nigeria looks to have returned to the politics of the old third-world 20th century, a time of America backed leaders such as Sadam Hussain allowed to do anything except cross America. Isis was the result. I wonder what awaits Nigeria.

Leaders backed by America do sometimes wake up and aim to put the needs of the nation above own petty needs but the consequences of that could be grave like the one Sadam Husian is buried in. grin

Enjoyed reading your insightful thoughts on the relationship between America and African, I see it as master/servant thing.

So where is the change from the norm that was preached then by the Pro-GMB group?

There is definitely no change at all. The same pattern is being followed and even worse now because all the appointments so far are headed north and Daura in particular.

Buhari is a Northern Candidate used to return power to the North! He will serve and implement Northern Agenda.
