Dayo Okondo, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees, has rejected his appointment by the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as a member of the Governing Council of the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti.

According to news reports, the rejection came shortly after the Governor announced the list of the appointees on Friday.

Okondo who spoke to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, said he was not contacted before his name was announced adding that the appointment was an insult to his personality and thus does not befits his status as a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT.

The PDP chieftain who had been bedridden disclosed that he had not been visited by Fayose, adding that the Governor had not assisted him with his failing health.

He said he and his family were abandoned to their fate by the PDP, especially when his son who served as a bodyguard to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, needed medical treatment abroad.
