truth:
Owerri must be the most expensive town east of the River Niger - Why? Most of Imo people are constrained by their govt to relocate to Owerri . Modern infrastructures in Imo state exist only in Owerri.

all six federal and state universities and polytechnics in Imo state are in or nearest Owerri - state gov creates the fabulous impression that his govt has no powers to relocate any.

the present governor built three more stadium-like structures in addition to the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri - the governor partially demolished the only stadium in Orlu and left it in ruins since 2011.

the present governor demolished the state library in Owerri and built new ones - no public library in Imo state outside Owerri.

the present govt scattered many once motorable roads outside Owerri and left them like that in the past four years - something he would not dare do in Owerri.

modern drainage system in Owerri are best and increased by the present govt - no drainage system exists elsewhere in Imo state outside Owerri.

40+ AMAZING FACTS YOU DON'T KNOW about GOOGLE

Google is an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related products and services . These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software just to name a few.

Google is the biggest thing on the internet right now and will stay that way for a very looooooooong time. But asides the popularity of this internet giant, there are some amazing facts about Google you don’t know.

Google beats Facebook: it’s the world’s most visited website.

Google was originally called “Backrub”.

Google got its name by accident. The founders misspelled “googol”, which refers to the number 1 followed by 100 zeroes.

In 1999, the founders of Google actually tried to sell it to Excite for just US$1 million. Excite turned them down.

Every minute,2 million searches are performed on Google.

For the 4th consecutive year, Google was named the best company to work for in the U.S by Fortune Mag in 2014.

When a Google employee dies, their spouses receive half pay from the company for 10 years and their children US$1,000 per month until they turn 19.

Google has found GPA’s and test scores to be “worthless as criteria for hiring”; they have teams where 14% of their employees haven’t gone to college.

Google? Google "Imo state" since 2011, except election stories, 99.8% of the stories are about Owerri.

Beremx:
don't worry,he has been reported to the mods.

Mods...if this threat by Beremx is true...kindly advise the Op of this thread to also edit his original post where he ridiculed other states...It is this action of his, I guess that prompted others to also post pictures of some areas of Owerri metropolis which are not too good to behold...

Justice should be encouraged and upheld...thanks...

Every city has the dense side and resultant challenges.
I can't see walkways, any reason for that? How do residents go for a walk or early morning exercise without the danger of being hit by a car?

Owerri again? As usual, ''nice pictures'', ''nice city'', ''lots of greenery'', BUT NO PEDESTRIAN SIDEWALKS. NOT A SINGLE THOUGHT FOR PEDESTRIANS.

(SPIT). BACKWARD, DUMB AND STUPI.D PEOPLE.
Look. Until people who rule over Owerri and all these other nasty places in the East decide to JOIN THE CIVILIZED WORLD and build infrastructure for BOTH motorists AND pedestrians, as opposed to motorists alone, they can take their primitive ''niceness'' and stuff it up their BUSH backsides.

I was at this part of Owerri for the first time in May, on my way from Port Harcourt. I think it's close to CBN and Federal High Court or is it Court of Appeal, can't remember now. That was also my first time in the east.

However talking about a plot of land going for N1.5Billion is not true. What is the economic value of the Area that would place it on the same pedestal as Asokoro (seat of FGN, with many foreign embassies) or Victoria Island (which is the corporate headquarters of Nigeria) that plots of land would cost that much?

Even in Banana Island close to Ikoyi most plots cost less than that. Guy do get your facts right please.

And Rochas is not working

Plz don't credit another man's idea to Rochas...New Owerri where these pictures came from was Udenwa's idea and he started it off very well...

The green environment there is Ohakim's clean and green initiative...

I don't know what Rochas administration has added to these outside the fact that more rich men buy property there...which has nothing to do with government... thanks

There is walkway but you cannot see it from the pictures because of trees. The walkways are cool and well off the road.
