The Nigeria Customs Service has destroyed 8,000 cartons of seized frozen poultry at its Seme Area Command. The seizures were said to have been made by various commands under Zone A.

No problem with the seizure, but did they have to destroy the products? Isn't it possible to give the orphanage homes and child support services? I mean there are lives that would have touched...HUNGER... I mean...

When they recover money stolen by robbers from a bank, do they burn it?

In as much as nobody is encouraging importation of banned products, when such goods are seized they should go a long way in helping the country.

Did you read about the meats destroyed in China a couple of weeks ago? Some of those meats were packaged in the 1970's.

It is best they are destroyed, since we don't know when, how or where the poultry is coming from.

Is it that the goods got spoilt or something? As at this morning a Kilograms of Turkey is #1200, the highest in the history of Nigeria!

who told you customs do not know where the poultry products come from? These are poultry consumed in Benin Republic which has been certified fit for human consumption but when it gets to Nigeria,customs will tell us it is poisonous just to make us forcefully eat live chicken which is expensive and to go to shoprite and other big malls to buy their own frozen chicken.
