A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and ex- Parliamentary Liaison Adviser to late President Umaru Ya’Adua, Senator Abba Aji has blamed former President Goodluck Jonathan for what he called deliberate destruction of the party (PDP) before leaving office two months ago.

Aji who was justifying his decision to quit PDP and join the All Progressive Congress (APC), told journalists in an interview in Maiduguri, that the former president knew the future of the party was precariously bleak months before elections but deliberately decided to destroy it.

“PDP was deliberately destroyed by Jonathan. He was the greatest beneficiary of democracy in Nigeria and PDP’s 16 years of ruling in most states and at the federal level, yet he did everything to undermine the progress of the party and left it worse than he met it. He simply messed up the party,” he alleged.

He alleged that the fight against Boko Haram in the North east did not receive timely attention from the Jonathan presidency until it got out of hand.

He said the Boko Haram insurgency has forced thousands of children out of schools while their parents could not also farm. He said the social and economic impact of these challenges could be catastrophic for a state that is grappling with education backwardness even before insurgency started about six years ago.

That's the problem I have with naija politician; always joining the winning team, if all of you de camp to APeC now there won't be a strong opposition party (PDP) to check their excesses and weaknesses to ensure the betterment of our hard earned democracy....in order news, Buhari will soon destroy APeC because of his bunch of unfulfilled promises

He didnt, greed, corruption, lack of internal democracy & poor ethical values did...

Also with the bolded , its imperative to note that your sort were never in the party to contribute to nation building, it was purely about bread buttering.

Everybody including Jonathan himself knows there is no PEACE for the wicked . The next five years and his old age would be partly spent in court trying to get himself and associates from money laundering and financial miss appropriation cases that would drag on for years. Next he would have to endure negative articles, books and name calling some of which his children will read .
