Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi arrived in Kenya 3 days ago for a two-day official visit. He met with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House for the signing of a Sh34 billion financing agreement with Italy banks for the construction of Itare Dam in Kuresoi. But if you look closely at the pictures of the Italian prime minister which was taken at the state house, you’ll notice what looks like corner-shaped outfit underneath the PM’s slim fit Italian suit.

We expect an Italian prime minister, Matteo Renzi to wear a well-cut suit in a meeting with a world leader
Question is: Why did he wear bullet-proof vest to meet with Kenya’s president. Isn’t the state house safe? If the State house is not safe, where else is safe in Kenya

This is what he said…

Millions, ordinarily expect an Italian prime minister, Matteo Renzi to wear a well-cut suit in a meeting with a world leader, look smart and simple. But not accessorized with body-armor that is even heavy on his body....in a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta in Kenya's State House!

Kenyans mockingly asked whether Renzi took the adage 'security starts with you' a step too far. grin
