The leadership crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, has accelerated, as Senator Dino Melaye from Kogi-West Senatorial district has lambasted and described as narrow-minded those insisting Senator Bukola Saraki erred when he refused to acknowledge the letter from the party leadership.

The letter recommended Senator Ahmad Lawan and others for principal officer positions but Melaye insists that the various caucuses outranked it.

Melaye who made his position known in a programme tagged “Focus Nigeria” aired on AIT exonerated Saraki of any blame and stated that principal officers of the Senate are appointed by the Senate caucuses and not the leadership of any political party.

“The truth is that leadership of principal officers are appointed by their various caucuses.
“It has never happened in the history of the legislator where any party would write the parliament and indicate names against positions.
