Buhari's Visit To The US; Matters Arising And Begging Questions. by OLADD: 10:48am On Aug 01, 2015
It's no longer news that Buhari visited the United States of America penultimate week but the Cost and Benefits of that visit will linger for a long time in our national discus With over N2 billion reportedly expended on the adventure, questions must be asked on the sincerity of APC and Buhari's campaign promise of blocking leakages in our system as a panacea for effective governance and fiscal prudence. We must also querry the over-hyped new alliance between US and Nigeria. Now to the salient questions;

1. What's the rationale for Buhari visiting US without MInisters and Economic team when he could have achieved needed commitment(s) from Obama through mere phone calls and exchange of mails thereby saving cost in the process?

2. Even before extending invitation to Buhari, Obama had had his itenary of visiting Kenya and Ethiopia clearly scheduled. Why did he decide to choose hosting our 72 years old president in his domain instead of including Nigeria in his list of counties he had planned to visit in Africa? If Obama truly believe in a new Nigeria under Buhari, why did he rub mud on the faces of Nigerians by bypassing Nigeria just as he did during Jonathan's administration? Which one is much more cost effective between Buhari visiting Obama or the later visiting Nigeria?

What's your opinion Nairalanders?

Buhari wants to indirectly run and put in place "dictatorship" before appointing ministers and other portfolios.....

Obama once more has shown he doesnt respect the government in power by not including Nigeria in his points of stop for visits.. How many hours would it have taken him to jet into Abuja, consult with APC demi-god Buhari and jet out to Kenya... Buhari instead had to spend 2billion to meet with him for few minutes ....

Those questions had been asked by compatriots before Buhari and APC came to power. Now that they are in govt, they are under compulsion to give desired answers to the 15million Nigerians that voted for them.

APC is a fraud! How the hell was 2.2 billion spent just to visit US when we have presidential jets and the accommodation in US was to some extent granted by the host. No economic deals were struck at this time when we need cash inflows neither was arms purchase secured! This govt is a monumental joke! undecided
