Maj-Gen. Nasir Muazu, the former General Officer
Commanding (GOC), 2 Division, Ibadan, on
Tuesday handed over to his successor, Maj-Gen.
Laz Ilo.
Muazu had been redeployed to the Infantry
Corps Headquarters, Jaji, Kaduna.
Ilo, who hails from Ihiala Local Government Area
of Anambra, had served the Nigerian Army in
various capacities and formations.
He was until his appointment as GOC the Director,
Personnel Services, Department of Army
Administration, Army Headquarters, Abuja.
In his remarks at the forum, Muazu described Ilo
as an experienced officer and a capable soldier
that could take the Division to greater heights.
He solicited the cooperation of other officers for
Ilo, saying he was happy that he was handing over
to another infantry soldier.
“I urge our officers to be responsive to the people
and not bully them.

“We should all key into the change we are about
to witness in the country while discharging your
duties diligently,’’ Muazu said.
In his remarks, Ilo commended Muazu for
transforming the 2 Division to enviable heights,
promising to build upon the achievements.
He said that he was happy that Muazu was leaving
for a higher calling, saying more of his wealth of
his experience would be needed.
“If I am in a position to score you Sir, I will score
you big. We promise to be committed and build
upon the standard we met,” Ilo said.
Ilo also called for the support of officers in the
division, urging them to be disciplined, loyal and
hardworking.
The handing over ceremony, which featured
signing of handover note and change of authority,
was witnessed by officers in the Division.
