It is good you are not from Edo.
Do you know anything about the loan?
Mind you, this is the second phase of the loan meant for certain projects. The first phase went according to the original agreement for the loan in phases and the success of the first phase which has been confirmed and certified by world bank gave room for this second phase.
Those protesting are hired crowd because their paymasters didn't get the first phase of the loan shared between them.
Oshiomole can be hated as an individual but the purpose of the loan is for the people. No one is perfect cos if we were we won't be here.
It. Will be better for us as a people to always push to have accurate information. This loan didn't start today as it started with the previous administration and it also scaled through Senate.

Which truth is glaring? PDP ruled for 10 years in Edo with nothing to show for it. Oshiomole came and turned the whole state around, yet u av not seen anything the man has done. It's OK, kontinu.
kodlins:

Even when the truth is glaring to you?
Come to Edo and see the plight of the people.

How does he hope to pay back?
Ge os,sue to leave office in less than a year with no plan on how to service the loan yet you shout sponsored protesters.

What is the loan for and has the Edo state government enlighten the indigenes of the need and usage of this loan. Was the previous secured loans judiciously spent?

I don't know why we keep hearing that both State and Federal government borrow loans for one developmental program or the other but we're never told that these project were executed neither are the masses feeling the impact of these loans.

For more than a decade the amount of loans secured by our leaders coupled with internally generated revenue should be enough for us to have make strides in power, educational, infrastructural and health sectors but yet there's nothing on ground to justify these loans were prudently spent. When are our leaders going to fear God na.

We care. Be honest to itself, can you really say the way Lucky left Edo state is the way it is today? The fact that you hate oshiomole does not mean you shouldn't say the truth when you see one. The world Bank had said they are satisfied with the way the 1st tranche of the loan was used based on the project the state government highlighted. It is based on this premise they want to release the 2nd tranche.

bring records of what the first installment was used for.

NOI refused to approve the loan because, the state doesn't have the capacity to pay back, lets stop living in delusion.

years to come, they will troop to Abuja for another bailout.

MrNL:
The request sent to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari for approval of a $75 million loan request by Edo State may be running into turbulent waters, as protesters, on Wednesday, stormed the National Assembly, urging legislators not to approve the request by the Edo State government.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 written to the National Assembly seeking the approval of the loan being the second tranche of the $ 225 million World Bank granted the Edo State government under the 2012-2014 external borrowings.

The protesters displayed placards at the main entrance of the National Assembly, with some of the placards reading: “Don’t approve the loan”, ” We don’t want loan” and ” We want action”.

They stormed the assembly at about 10.a.m. when Senators were going in for the day’s legislative duties.

In the same vein, the Senate, on Wednesday, referred the request to its Standing Committee on Local and Foreign Debts.

The motion for the loan request was moved by the Senate leader, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, and it was seconded by Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda of the FCT.

Ruling on the motion, the Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, granted Ndume’s request and referred it to the committee on debts.

Was it not the same loan that NOI refused to provide guarantees for? At least she must be telling the truth with regards to Oshiomoles recent outbursts

Lol, Adam Oshiomwhole could not even hold citizens of his state contented, instead he runs his mouth against people who served and had to withstand local and international pressure as they served Nigeria.

Roguish? With just one year left in office, why must Oshiomwhole go for such a jumbo loan?

Is the Oshiomole man fleeching Edo peopleo ?
Though the people of edo do claim being educated why don't they make their known to the relevant comitee handling the request instead of making nuisance themselves .

Truly, we have misplaced priorities in Nigeria, if this protesters can storm the NASS over Edo state loan to vent their displeasure, I honestly see no reason whatsoever why they didn't storm the same NASS over the gargantuan allowances the NASS members receive.

my friend truth be told, Mr Adams has less than 1 yr left in his tenure. Edo state internally generated revenue is above #2b monthly. multiply dat by 10 months he should have d equivalent of what he seeks to collect as loan. We shouldn't put d future of Edo indigent in disarray. There is so much dat goes on in govt house dat u don't and will never knw of. so dis borrowing is not in its proper timing
