The Political Agenda Of The Buhari Government by jbankzE(f): 7:18pm On Aug 07, 2015
The government of Gen. Buhari which kick started May was one that promised transition and change to Nigerians, though there were a lot said about the kind of change he was truly bringing to Nigerians. People even made fun of him by saying: we are no passengers seeking for change. After 100 days in office we are beginning to envisage the kind of change he was talking about. The revolution Nigeria needs is an eminent one; this government is truly trying to bring this transformation and it imminent. In his own words this was the change he meant
Change means:

•A country that you can be proud of at any time and anywhere: where corruption is tackled, where your leaders are disciplined and lead with vision and clarity; where the stories that emerge to the world from us are full of hope and progress.

•A Nigeria in which neither yourselves, nor your parents, families or friends will have to fear for your safety, or for theirs.

•A Nigeria where citizens get the basics that any country should provide: infrastructure that works, healthcare that is affordable, even free; respect for the environment and sustainable development, education that is competitive and outcome-oriented in a knowledge-economy.

•A country that provides jobs for its young people, reducing unemployment to the lowest of single digits and providing safety nets so that no one is left behind.
During his campaigns and speeches he talked about his political agenda for 2015, we would be briefly talking about some of the reoccurring agenda.

WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION (WAC)
In one of its recent survey, Transparency International, TI, ranked Nigeria the 34th most corrupt nation out of the 177 countries studied in the world. In 2012, Nigeria was ranked as the 36th most corrupt nation among the less than 170 countries studied.

Most Nigerian electorate believes that General Muhammadu Buhari has the capabilities to fight corruption. His first stint in governance as a military dictator between 1983 and 1985 was still fresh in the memory of most Nigerians particularly, his ‘War Against Indiscipline,’ WAI, programme. He has remained largely one Nigerian seen to have lived and professed frugality, a quality that made him the beautiful bride and ultimately endeared him to the electorate............
