They have taken the fight to the centre, instead of wasting time and resources shutting stations.
Whether it is upstream, downstream, gas or laboratory sector that is found defaulting, they surely dance to the music.

So why making it seem like it's a novelty by saying

Can we now agree for once that the promised cosmetic change is a farce?
Isn't it becoming glaring that transformational change is the real deal?
Chei! There is God ooo, even if you dislike the present administration let's give kudos when it is due. Those links you posted up there referred to when the previous administration just gave us ten naira change and some filling stations refused to comply. Here we are talking about companies causing pms to still sell above the official price after all these while...

wachakuta:
President Muhammadu Buhari’s zero tolerance for corruption is already making impact in the oil sector.

This is as the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has started to fish out culpable oil companies.

In the past few days, the agency shut facilities belonging to six major depot owners in Apapa Lagos.

They were found guilty of flagrantly disregarding the government directive that the depot price of petrol should not be above N77.66 per litre.

The depots closed by the agency, according to New Telegraph, are AA Rano, Ascon, Obat, Integrated Oil, Sahara Energy and Swift Oil.

DPR, it was gathered, held separate meetings with the affected companies over the issue with no positive result.

A source told the newspaper that “Efforts by the government to ensure that the fuel is sold at N87 per litre to Nigerians at the filling stations could not yield the desired results because depots are sabotaging these efforts by selling the products to filling stations above the ex-depot price of N77. 66 per litre, and still claim subsidy payment.

“This action has made their counterparts to begin to display their prices using various outdoor media”.

He added that complaints by some Nigerians that they buy the product above N87 per litre “will soon be a thing of the past.”

Meanwhile, DPR has threatened to withdraw their licences for violating the pricing template and guidelines of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulating Agency (PPPRA).

On Sunday, the DPR announced the sealing of 12 filling stations in Abuja for profiteering and selling above government approved prices.

A statement by Mohammed Usman, the DPR Zonal Operations Controller, said in Abuja on Sunday that the 12 stations had brought to 34 the number of filling stations sealed by the DPR in Abuja and environs.

It said that surveillance was carried out by four teams covering Abuja and its environs.

“A total of 46 filling stations were visited and the exercise indicated availability of PMS in the stations with some queues observed”, it disclosed.

The statement named the stations as Harry Pet filling station in Gwagwalada for selling PMS at N110; Drison Oil filling station at Giri for selling PMS at N100 and Ohinoyi Oil in Kwali for under dispensing with -3770 mls.

Also sealed were Gausiya filling station at Giri where one pump was sealed for under-dispensing with -740 mls; Adelhi Ltd filling station at Masaka for selling PMS at N105 and Hariz Pet at Masaka sealed for selling PMS at N110.

Oando Plc at Maraba Aso was sealed for suspected diversion of PMS (45,000 litres), Mobil New Nyanya had one pump sealed for under-dispensing with -730 mls and Badeggi Petrol station at Dikko Junction sealed for selling PMS at N110.

Others were Edewa Ltd at Kwamba Suleja sealed for selling PMS at N105, Shemaco filling station, Kwamba Suleja was sealed for selling PMS at N97 and Dee Jones, Kwamba, Suleja was sealed for selling PMS at N105 and under dispensing with -420 mls.

The statement noted that the affected stations were to remain sealed for at least one month as well as forfeiting their bridging claims for the products in question.

Earlier in July, the DPR shut 23 private petroleum products depots across the country also for selling PMS N77.66 per litre.

A statement issued by DPR Director, Mr Mordecai Ladan, in Abuja noted that the depots were mainly in Lagos except for two in Warri, Delta, and three in Calabar.

The clampdown on the private depots followed the report of a special investigation team set up by DPR to uncover some unwholesome practices by the private petroleum products depots.

smh.
Aren't the petrol stations affiliated to the depots?
What good is an Oando Depot if there is no Oando filling station to buy its product?

Have you bothered to know why they were shut @filling stations?

In the past, it was because they either hoarded fuel or sold at abysymally high price.

This time, DPR went for the depots' jugular because they were selling at an unapproved price.
Tomorrow, it might be the petrol stations.
What we should be happy about is that the DPR are seemingly effective.

The reason I think "they" get nervy is because your ilk are quick to ascribe everything to Mr Buhari.
It irks to know that the policies or legacies for which the media is so quick to praise this government for (especially Buhari) are the same things that Jonathan achieved without so much pomp and pageantry.....yet, he is hated and treated with so much scorn and indignity.

Even as news filters in daily, that there is no TANGIBLE achievement which this government can lay claim to that doesn't have a large imprint of the past regime written on it.

I hope you can now understand why most people will always be psychologically defensive/offensive.....at least until this government begins to deliver on the promised change (in other words, setting precedents like never before).

You need to realise that the past administration of GEJ was indifferent to the calls against corruption. He sometimes defended it and grounded all anti-graft institutions be it EFCC and others. He lacked will to move the country to prosperity despite the inherited buoyant economy had from his predecessor. After 6 years of governance he had only capital flight, insecurity, increased unemployment, ehnicity/tribalism and father of all institutional corruption to be proud of.
The present administration of PMB started with will to fight and put straight everything that went wrong in the past.
They are very different.

You need to understand that Jonathan's loss at the polls have made some people so bitter that they just don't want anything good to come from this present administration. But then, if PMB fails, then Nigerians will have to suffer another four years of bad governance. I just wonder if these people that pray for his failure also live in Nigeria or they actually don't want anything good for Nigeria, just to prove a very silly point.

APC is full of corrupt people, PDP is filled with corrupt people too but wishing that a President fails just to absolve another of wrongdoing is pure madness.

They say PMB have not achieved anything so far and we say they should chill smiley
The next four years will herald good and new things for us all. PMB will not fail, Nigeria will be great again.

Close mindedness and illogical conclusions are not good attributes to adopt. Think across boards and give credit to those who clearly deserve it, or just maintain the golden silence if your ego dictates otherwise. That's the only way to get or maintain an iota of credibility as a critic.
