Either majority of the folks commenting on this forum are not Yorubas or the omo Odua commenting thrash about what Odumakin said are idiots cum Yoruba bastards. The Ooni is a symbol, it is not judged on who wears the crown, yes Ooni Sijuade made some unpalatable choices during his reign, but the funeral service of an Ooni is a symbolic activity to present a strong front for the children of Odua, the governors choosing to play politics with it will help them in the short term but it will hurt all Omo Odua in the future, if you don't respect the father of all Yoruba's how do you expect an outsider to respect you or your people ? Abiola that we are shouting that his mandate was disqualified and aided by the Ooni, was also part and parcel of the political coup that denied Awolowo(who single handedly helped Sijuade become the Ooni) and all successful military coup from the one that ousted Shagari to even Abacha(the one that bit him in the ass)'s coup. So people that want to say stories should please do their research well start such stories from the beginning. And to let all yoruba's out there if your name is a Yoruba name even if you are the most senior of all pastors or Imams of Imam in as much as people address you by your name and it was given to you by your parents, the Ooni the guardian of the culture and tradition is our father, no matter who or what occupies the throne.

The Ooni was a conspicuous PDP leader. Those governors must have felt the brunt of his partisan politics. But they should have shown some courtesy for the traditional post that he held.



He who holds traditional office should stay away from politics. He rubbished his name by dabbling into partisan politics, thereby reducing himself to nothing more than a political enemy..
