The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has said that Nigeria does not owe foreign nationals who fall victim to fraudsters an apology.Mark spoke on Wednesday while receiving an economic delegation from Ireland. The team was led by the country’s Minister of Integration, Mr. Conor Lenihan. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, quoted Mark as saying that “I have no apology for victims of 419. “If somebody ask you to bring, say $200, 000 in order to get $20m in return without investing anything concrete or rendering valuable services and you go ahead to do so, if you are ripped off in the process, you should blame yourself and not the system.” |

and this is why Nigeria's international reputation is: FRAUDSTERS THIEVES UNDERHANDED SHADY LIARSetc., which is why NOBODY wants to invest in Nigeria and why Nigerians are denied Visa's and Despised Globally. Thus, Lagos will continue to get bigger more polluted and diseased. Besides, those days are over, and the poor fools that got rich quick are now BROKE! |

The whole world political and financial machine is a scam, from american federal reserve to even somalian exiled government, all are in the same shoes, milking the common man. I think the 419ers are more patriotic than average african politicians and officials, who rob the people of their natural sweat and squander the money abroad, while 19s' bring in the hard cash from the over greedy victims which somehow, reaches the people. The greatest problems of africa are leadership and multi-national exploitations,as well as religious organizations |

Scammers and con men are criminals, and their marks are no saint, rather I see them as accomplices in the crime. If they had gotten the promised $20M from their $20K 'investment', they would never report it to the law enforcement agencies. When caught both of them should be jailed. |

Typical naija. Why send a mail offering 20M for 20k in the first place. like we have a problem with honesty in this country. Like someone blaming a man burgled for not locking his door. or blaming a girl who reveals for being raped. Primitive thinking. So why would anyone owe Nigerians an apology if they called all of us Dishonest and fraudulent like people were demanding frm Oprah Winfrey? |

Re: 419: Nigeria Owes Nobody Apology – Mark by amarilo: 6:12pm On Apr 12, 2009 |
It takes two to tango, which legal biz will u invest 200k and get a profit of 200m in kust one/two weeks. If you prosecute the scammer from nigeria without prosecuting his counterpart from America or Europe itz just a one sided justice. Prosecute the two cuz the oyibo man is an accomplice. |
Re: 419: Nigeria Owes Nobody Apology – Mark by dayokanu(m): 9:46pm On Apr 12, 2009 |
Insert Quote Since it takes 2 to tango we can as well prosecute the thief and the man who left his door open for being an accomplice. or we can prosecute the man and the woman who gets raped to for not dressing up like a masquerade |

Apology for what??. . . .These aren’t children that are getting scammed now . . . .??So what truly give?? And funny enough some of them (the so called preys) tend to fall victims repeatedly . . . im talking over and over again. . . . Its time to wake up and get a dose of reality splashed on their faces!! The main problem here as well is GREED. . .ahan. . . someone tell u he/she has a couple mill stashed somewhere and all he needs is a certain amount of money for u to get a huge cut of the dough and u sheepishly fall for it. . . .Then u most certainly deserve whatever it is u get!!! What u didn’t sweat and toil for. . . .If it looks like a duck. . . .Smells like and duck. . . .And quacks like a duck. . . .Then guess what?? IT IS A FRIGGING DUCK!!! |

Just stop it because I am feed up to receive at least 15 or more 419 emails every days in my mailbox. In fact I dont know anybody who didnt receive this kind of email. We have to change the image of Nigeria,so just stop the Tango. |

Since it takes 2 to tango we can as well prosecute the thief and the man who left his door open for being an accomplice. Dayo u are comparing two diff scenerio, Why do police arrest somebody selling a stolen goods? Yes,It takes two to tango, but why in 99% of the case when there is a Tango419 Dance you heard the word Nigeria or Nigerians?Coincidence,of course!!!!.Just stop inviting people to dance Tango. Just stop it because I am feed up to receive at least 15 or more 419 emails every days in my mailbox. In fact I dont know anybody who didnt receive this kind of email. We have to change the image of Nigeria,so just stop the TangoThey always call Nigerians cuz the media is in thier control and again nobody speaks out against them(Oyibos). You are talking of email you receive on daily basis, what about the once you receive from oyibos about online biz that we all know as scam. What of this online pharm store advertising viagra and all sort of fake drugs? are they from Nigerians as well. Yes 419 is not good and can be stopped by prosecuting both parties concerned. Once they know they can be prosecuted if the deal goes sour they will think twice to venture in it. |
Re: 419: Nigeria Owes Nobody Apology – Mark by dayokanu(m): 3:50am On Apr 13, 2009 |
That is a shameless person reply. Why do scammed people respond to emails and not why we send the emails in the first place. If we dont send such emails, No one would reply in the 1st place or what do you think? |
Re: 419: Nigeria Owes Nobody Apology – Mark by Nobody: 3:54am On Apr 13, 2009 |
We? We? asiri e ti tu. . . . @post Anywaz, both the scammers and the ones being scammed are both to be blamed. But sometimes, the scammers preys on the "goodness" of the people. . . .not necessarily on inheritance. Could be asking for donation for sick children etc etc. |
