The finish is what dictates how expensive a house ends up at.

I don't care if you build if from Pepsi bottles if it looks like that then it will be expensive.

There's no shortcut.

Just look at Spyder880s village house. See how much it cost him and he's a talented shopper that goes to market.

Anyone can throw a 2 bedroom shyteshack together for N5m or whatever but a good designed house with fop flight finishing specs? That one na another story.

My Oga, I tire o. N60 m?

The pop powder is replaced with portland cement to be used to mix the pop emulsion paint to form a paste.
Some topbond or other brand name variety of it is best added to the paint to reduce the risk of cracking. like 1litre of the bond to 1 drum of pop emulsion paint.
While acrylic based paint is the best type of paint in all type of paints, experience has shown that addition of some pva based topbond type binders helps to minimize possibility of cracking due to it slowing down the drying rate of the screeding plaster on the wall after application.
Cracking is caused when the plaster doesn't have time to shrink uniformly due to drying. The top dries faster than the under. but adding top bond slows it to allow more uniform drying due to its alcohol content which has affinity for water.

Okay.
Is it possible to get this same acrylic based pop emulsion paint in any other colour apart from the white/off white colour it is, as a production specialist?
Thanks

Any help would be appreciated. I received a list of electrical supplies to purchase, it contains "Nos" on most of the item. Like (Nos 15A socket) or (Nos water heater switch). Is this a brand or requirement?

Forget about the Nos. It should be a certain quantity, so they have to count how many you need. Its not a brand name but the type of item you need. Contact Allcopectic herw for his catalog for "what you see, is what you get". Get familiar with the item before your electrician get you banktrupt.

Seek the services of an architect but if cost is an issue, then a draughtsman with your survey plan and a possible visit to the land. Best way forward.

Thanks for the explanation sir.
I saw a stair in one of the interior, what is the slab made of & what supports it? The foundation is also another issue....Unless H steel beams are gonna be planted in some corners, if not i fear for the durability & see it as a temporary structure....
It's not a slab Sir, the framework is metal.
I believe it was welded to the body.

Oga you did not answer #6 question, please get us the full details on that question. If this design is proving to be safe and affordable, this model will be a game changer. Don't be suppressed, 5000-6000sqm of land in middle of nowhere will be spring up to be mini towns.
I have no idea, but I read an article putting the figure at N60m. For that particu unit

Wow. Very nice o. Wonder what will be the cost difference.

Hajji M.
I believe it'll largely depend on the quality of finish, the chosen design, and the logistics at the disposal of the fabricating company.
Single level design with the same number of bedrooms, in an area where containers are easily moved to site might cost considerably less.

Oh, that'll definitely be supported by the top of the lower container and the base of the upper container. I don't see another way around it.
The floors and walls are finished with various cladding materials

Very true @ bolded.
I believe The end cost will generally be tailored to the client's pocket.

The major challenge i see with this form of architecture is the logistics of moving the shipping containers around... on site, aswell as to Site

The 2bedroom container house will cost you a whopping 60million!

The figure killed the interest.
Permit me to add my 2kobo to this topic
The greatest challenge that this containers face is HVAC I.E ventilation and air condition. Especially in a place like Abuja with a considerably high solar intensity. These will be a major cause for the increase in the cost of the project.
The implication is you will spend along of money on insulation from heat also u will spend a lot on protection of the steel from corrosion . These type of structures are more suitable for temperate regions . Where the opposite is the case. This is why it has not really thrived in this part of the world as putting all this factors into the equation makes it more expensive than the average house built with block and hence becomes less attractive to developers and clients.
There is no way it can really be green in this part of the world because you will require a lot of energy to keep it table stable and comfortable for human habitation.

Wow looks good. Especially the rustic look. It will be interesting to incoporate both pvc and pop for one ceiling. Should bring down cost and improve aesthetics...True Rotecch?
What is the comparative cost with pop here in Nigeria and how did the order process go?
Thanks for sharing this.

bring down cost certainly not. a sqm of that pvc cost around 14-18$ minus shipment. im yet to makeup my mind concerning that though... sample was smooth although sending was a bit expensive as they used dhl.

I m just curious on how you plan to build an "eco-friendly" 85 m2 house with 3 bedrooms with 2 Million naira and also make profit in 2018 AD...as my friends we say for this Buhari Regime cheesy grin

From the pictures on your ad...the finishing is okay...can you please post a brief summary of the cost of each stage...like foundation...block work to lintel..roofing...plumbin and wiring...etc.

Thanks

No plumbing,no electrical fitting,no finishing, mortarless technology does not use lintel, instead we use angle iron, but you dont need painting and plastering
