Sola Giwa Initiative yet again delivered on her promise of Accessibility through integration of fumigation against insects, pests and rodents on monthly sanitation days.

Preceding all others, Ward D1 bigot the first Sola Giwa Initiative Environmental Sanitation and Fumigation as the Sanitation covered Kings Street through Bamgbose Street, Luther Street, Hafner Street, Sawyer Street towards the boundary of Lagos Island East and Lagos Island West.

The exercise is aimed at motivating environmental hygiene which in turn have a direct impact on personal hygiene. "It is not enough to encourage by word of mouth, we have to take to the streets to motivate by our presence and actions" - Sola Giwa.

The initiative is a long term plan and will be replicated across every street in Lagos Island Constituency II over subsequent environmental sanitation days.
Some stale gutters were made through by members of the team, the stale gutters poised a breeding site for insects most especially mosquito.
If sustained as Sola Giwa Initiative hopes to, there'll be a decline in the rate of sicknesses and morbidity. The environment will be a serene place for living and business transactions. Sanitation does improve health - simple achievable interventions reduce for example diarrhoea disease by 75%.

It was indeed a success as The Sola Giwa apex group marked their presence. The Permanent Secretary - Health Service Commission,
Mr. Bidemi Suleiman, Chairman CDA Ward D1, secretary to the Ward excos and the CDA excos amongst others were also present.

Sola Giwa is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Lagos Island Constituency II. He was appointed Special Assistant to Governor of Lagos on LASTMA in 2007 and also Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Lagos on Transportation in 2011.
