In an unprecedented visit, Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose paid an unannounced appearance at the State secretariat where he prevented civil servants who arrived late to work entry into their offices.

He also subjected them to heavy tongue lashing with several others prostrating before the Governor seeking for mercy.

Fayose was said to have arrived the State secretariat at around 8.00am on Monday, August 31, on a supervisory tour to monitor workers punctuality and absenteeism, where he prevented about 30 workers that arrived late entry into their office complex in a manner which many have described as dictatorial and undemocratic.

Fayose while addressing the workers said his administration would not tolerate lack of punctuality from civil servants adding that his Government can’t continue to pay salaries to those who choose to be absent from work.

Some Civil servant dont take their work seriously. So they need to be deciplined appropriately.
