APC lies being debunked daily.

It's increasingly becoming apparent that this government is a joke!

After all the noise of Senate rule forgery by the DSP, they couldn't even make a good presentation in court, only for their petition to be struck out.

What a shame!
world's dumbest attentionseeker.

Am sure you missed the news about reconciliation move by the leaders of senate unity forum and the like minds. They can't go on fighting forever. The crisis is having a serious effect on their legislative duties as they've done little or nothing since inauguration. So, any attempt at a peaceful resolution is a welcome development.
You didnt observe that some people you are replying doesn't even understand the news, even the OP cos his topic conflicts the content.

You are allowing them to control your destiny anyhow and you are shouting behafra. Why can't you guys from the east save yourselves some sweat and be in control of your lives for ones. Hatred is like drinking a cup of poison and you expect it to kill the ones you hate.

Mine is does this mean the Senators didn't go to court to right a wrong (forgery) but for selfish interests?
So one can steal or forge document, provided all parties are settled,it isn't a crime to be punished!
I wish such cases were pursued to logical conclusion,to prove the forgery or otherwise.
In Nigeria, the law is binding on the less privileged while the elite are above it,the Lord is watching.

Actually, it was PDP senators (saraki's backbones) that firstly issued a press statement condemning the EFCC investigation before senators of the unity forum did same. That's to show it was a procedural disagreement that most senators agreed was wrong.

It's so funny you are now trying to deny knowledge of the reconciliation move after people like you told us it won't work.

What has the president got to do with this? This is strictly a National assembly and party supremacy affair and the president made it clear publicly that he won't intervene. You should get your facts correctly before commenting.

The north wants to teach Tinubu politics.

When I said earlier that Saraki is going no where, some said no one dares Asiwaju and his political life survives.

Let's see how it plays out. Already, Emir Lamido and Dangote’s solidarity well publicized visit made it Saraki 1 - Tinubu 0

As it stands now, the court makes it a brace for Saraki i.e Saraki 2 - Tinubu 0.

I'm sure the hat trick is coming in a matter of days.

But the reason for its withdrawal was given expressly in that report, "the reason for the suit has been OVERTAKEN BY EVENTS "Where did you get your own report that it was as a result of their reconciliation?

Read the report very well, the petitioners withdrew the case and the judge struck it out. Am sure the case was withdrawn as a result of the reconciliation effort by leaders of the party.

Abu Ibrahim, Kabir Marafa, Ajayi Boroffice, Olugbenga Ashafa and Suleiman Hunkuni, applied to withdraw the suit not because it was overtaken by events but because they got juicy committee appointments.

The offence was for forgery of Senate Standing Rules abi?

Can a crime be resolved or overtaken by events?

This is not the kind of case that should be withdrawn. Our leaders are involved. The nation's image is at stake here. But for the sake of personal interest which is the reason for being in politics in Nigeria the case has being withdrawn.

Shame on the prosecutors/plaintiffs!
Shame on Nigeria judicial system!!
Shame on all the current serving senators Nigeria!!!

JusticeSeeker:
the stack ignorance demonstrated by @OP here is mind boggling. a particular motion was struck out and not the entire suit but the @OP is here probably because he wants to make his team of Wailers feel they've defeated APC.

Did you read that "Following their application, Justice Adeniyi, in a short ruling yesterday, struck out the suit."

Why must yu insist that it's a particular motion that was struck out?

The case was filed via originating summons and originating summons are by way of motions meaning witnesses are not called but it's by the affidavit evidence.

A writ of summons will take 30 days for the defendant to file his defence while by way of originating summons, it's just 7 days for defence.

Fulani president and fulani Senate president, and some naive ones thought that Saraki is going out? Hehe!

Ekweremadu though, you have to admire his "smooth criminal" move, by standing his ground he retained his power, should he have joined APC, he would have ended up empty handed like the various "sensible" Igbos currently in APC, a lesson for all.

There is still no explanation for the origin of the rules under which Ekweremadu (a member of the minority PDP) emerged as Deputy Senate President. It appears the justice system (principally the police) has bungled this case as usual and told Nigerians once more that some people are bigger than the law.

Well, what did we expect? That David Mark would be indicted in a case of forgery? That's too much Hollywood "film trick". Even fairy tales are more realistic than that. Had he been caught on camera forging the rules, nothing would be done still. It is the way Nigeria is. Some people are just too big.

One thing is certain, Nigerian politics cannot survive under the law. Illegality is the foundation of our present polity.

The later part of paragraph 3 says among the reason for withdrawing of the case was that it has been overtaken by events. Events? Probably the appointment of mostly Northerners by the president

Bros they simply backed out of the case as pursuing the case would mean they cant be appointed into committees let alone juicy ones since taking it up would be pre-judicial and detrimental to their case. They already knew the case would take years to be decided and they cannot afford to be in court duration while their colleagues continue to enjoy the benefits of the juicy committees.
