Amid fears that a government policy of feeding primary school pupils in the country will impose a huge financial burden on the Buhari administration, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said on Wednesday that the policy will attract investment to the tune of N980 billion.

The vice president also said the school feeding programme will bring create jobs, and raise food production as well as investment in the country.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the vice president on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said the multiplier effects of the proposed scheme include job creation, increase in food production of up to 530,000 metric tonnes per annum, which will attract investor-by-investment of up to N980billion.

Things done in nigeria , most of the time ends up wrong!
I hope we will not start seeing some people growing fat on these money while we start seeing our children being fed with watery soup and shovel being used to scoop food on their plates, like we saw with the IDPs?

There's something about this Buhari. All this awareness and focus on tomato, groundnut, food this, food that. He seems to have a plan for the economic growth of the North. Which is not a bad in my opinion, considering that the North needs to catch up with the rest of the other regions.

Sometimes I always wonder if we read to comprehend or we just read for reading sake?

VP said the feeding programme will attract 980billion naira, he didn't mean they would be spending 980billion
Since wen does d word attract mean to spend?

First thing first; structures! Where are they?

Why not Use this money to biuld solid schools with quality instruments to teach students.

How about giving quality trainings to the teachers that will teach the students.

How about quality remunerations for the teachers and the administrative staffs?

The administrative bottle necks that characterise the civil service will only make this grandstanding programme another conduit pipe for siphoning government funds. .

It's a laudable plan.
