Match all the modern houses in the biggest city in all geopolitical zones across the country with those in Ibadan, when the houses in those cities finish, the remaining modern houses in Ibadan WILL still be more than those in the next two biggest cities. Fact!

Leave them,

Some of them don't know that Ibadan city alone(not the whole Oyo state.) is almost the size of the whole Lagos state.

Brown roof city. It sounds odd. It looks as if the city is under developed. Ibadan is sure a big urban town but i notice also a very good number of houses are not painted making it to look old and un attractive. They should start renovating the houses there. Ibadan need a "CHANGE"
yeah! A change, that's my thought.I'm even surprised but happy to have seen this post cos I've discussing this with my friends.Ibadan should have gone far than it is now. The most funiest thing is that;in Ibadan you can see whatever you are looking for both in people and structure.its a mixed city.if you want the modern life, its there if you want the locals, its there too.just name it anything.new, old, past, forgoten, obsolite etc.Ibadan is a funy place.

I'm disappointed in the OP trying to compare Venice with Ibadan.
Venice is the only one of its kind in terms of its canals and all.
Ibadan is a shanty town like Soweto and co.
So no comparison!

Many of the houses seen in pictures are family homes dating back decades and some a century or two, to paint them is to rob them of their essence. Many in ibadan keep those homes that way passed from generations onwards.

Also the planning of ibadan was well layed out from get go, so the chances of those homese getting demolished is little, unlike Lagos where a building craze developed and houses were built without order, in ibadan people build in settlements and in pattern. Take for instance bodija(new and old) all the houses are arranged and numbered in sequence and many other areas are like that.

Have they come cap in hand begging for your donation and sympathy?

Poverty in ibadan ! You must be kidding. I grew up in ibadan and I must say poverty is not a common trend as you have it in Lagos, people don't have to scratch all they have together to survive. Rent is not ridiculous and cost of living is not out of hand.

Then you have the professionals , many multinationals and large corporations still have their headquarters in ibadan, if the Lagos ibadan road is developed I can see ibadan developing further as it's only 45 minutes from Lagos and accesses both central SW and Northwest

It seems there are four kfc outlets in Ibadan, meaning badan host highest numbers of kfc in Nigeria after Lagos. Why?

Ibadan has more shoprite malls than other cities apart fron Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria? Why?.

Ibadan has more highrise( multiple stories between 33 - 100 Meters) than any cities in Nigeria apart from lagos and Abuja. Why?

Ibadan is one of the only cities that has a planned CBD in Nigeria after Lagos and Abuja. Why?
