Eight-year-old Ifedayo Oluwatombo Temiloluwa suffering from soft tissue sarcoma is pleading with the general public to help him undergo an urgent surgery in India.

The surgery, according to Centre for Rehabilitation of Exceptional Persons will cost not less than N2.7m on physical examination excluding the flight tickets and other logistics that might push the bill up by an extra N1m.
Ifedayo hails from Ikare Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According Ifedayo Yusuf, the father of the child, “my son was born on July 28, 2007 and two years after his birth, we started noticing some unusual changes like growth at the right side of his ear. His head was growing abnormally and the growth has recently covered his right ear.
“We went for several tests. We were latter directed to the Federal Medical Centre Owoh, after which we proceeded to University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan.”

In UCH, the doctor’s report obtained and signed by Drs. Olusola-Bello Adeyinka noted that: “The scanograms shows soft tissue swelling in the right auricular region. Serial pre and post contrast axial images show a soft tissue mass in the region of the right pinna extending and infiltrating the external auditory canal and extending laterally and inferiorly and extending posteriorly towards the right occiput with erosion/destruction of the right occipital bone.
“The mass is irregular, isodense and shows enhancement post contrast. The anterior portion also shows a ring like hyperdensity. No intracranial extension is noted.

The report further concluded: “Appearances suggests a soft tissue neoplastic tissue with bony destruction.”
As Ifedayo grows, the growth on his ear enlarges and threatens his life, and would need surgery as fast as the money could come. His parents therefore solicit the kindness of Nigerians of means to handle the challenge as they don’t have the money to foot the bill on their own.
