he had been playing for france national team ever since he was 16 years (youth team) before progressing to the senior squad and back then once u play for a country u can't make a switch like it is done now.

it is even back then that it was possible to play for two different national teams. Now you can play for another national if only you have played for the junior national team and not the senior team.

it is even back then that it was possible to play for two different national teams. Now you can play for another national if only you have played for the junior national team and not the senior team.
I'm not talk of the alfredo di stefano era when u could play for different national teams. In the 80s and 90s u could only represent one team even if it was in a friendly match u couldn't make a switch to another team
