Some hoteliers operating in Osun State have asked Governor Rauf Aregbesola to defray bills incurred by guests of the state government who lodged in their facilities. The hoteliers said this in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday by their spokesperson, Babatunde Karim. Although the hoteliers lauded Aregbesola’s policies in the tourism and hospitality business, they said the indebtedness had crippled some hotels. They appealed to the governor to settle bills incurred from March 2014 to date to enable them continue in business. The statement read,“We are gasping for breath now and business has slowed down because of poor patronage and indebtedness to many hotels in Osogbo. We remain a strong supporter of the administration of Ogbeni Aregbesola and hope he will take us into consideration while taking critical decision on how to stabilise private businesses in the state. “It is pertinent to note here that all policies and programmes of Aregbesola’s administration in the tourism and hospitality sector in the state, have impacted positively on our business, but we urge him to take urgent steps to further protect our investments from crumbling by paying promptly for the services we have rendered.” “Many hotels are retrenching because of huge amount owed them by government. Some could no longer cope and have dropped out of business. We urge him to please pay us the money to prevent total collapse of the sector.” Efforts to confirm from the governor’s media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, were unsuccessful. Calls put across to his telephone did not connect while text message sent to his telephone as well as inquiries sent to his email were yet to be responded to as of the time of filing this report. http://www.punchng.com/news/hoteliers-plead-with-aregbesola-to-pay-debts/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter 2 Likes |

The prodigal governor of Osun. Osun o ni gba gbe Aregbese. Atunbotan oni gbese... - Wasted millions of Naira changing the state name from Osun State to State of Osun. (What is the benefit now?) - Wasted millions of Naira building an airport in Osogbo when the nearest airport in Ibadan is just 45 minutes drive away. (Abandoned project, millions wasted) - Destroying peoples houses from Osogbo to the border of Kwara, all now abandoned projects. - Feeding school pupils with bogus meal, cost provided by his cohorts, when he could have empowered the pupils parents. - Importing contractors from Lagos for jobs that could easily be done by the state indigenes thereby making heavy capital flight to his home-based lord in Lagos. - Building the tallest drum in the world, instead of using small drums to worship his gods. (Millions wasted) Let me stop... It's high time FG declared State of Osun a failed state and install a military administrator to avert the impending anarchy. When Sola was in SS3. His teacher always
yelled at him, calling him "a waste of
conception, time and space. And a sure
failure
in life".
One day, poor Sola's grand mother came to
school to check out how her grandson was.
doing. The teacher told her quite frankly that
she had never seen such a dumb boy all her
life; and advised her to withdraw and enroll
him under an artisan, because formal
schooling
for Sola would be a total waste of time and
money. The grandmother, shocked at the
teacher's remarks, withdrew her grandson
from the school and relocated to Maiduguri.
**** 25 years later ****
The teacher was diagnosed with a brain
tumour. All the doctors she met advised her
to
do surgery. And only a certain doctor in the
whole of Nigeria (practicing in Maiduguri)
could
perform this procedure. Left with no
alternative, the poor teacher agreed to have
the surgery performed. Fortunately, It was
successful. When she awoke hours after the
surgery, she saw a handsome young doctor
smiling down at her. She was on artificial
respiration from a machine that provided her
oxygen. She wanted to thank him but could
not
speak. She looked sideways and suddenly
began
to express shock & anguish, her face started
to
turn pale; she frantically made attempts to
raise her hand and tell him something but
couldn't. She struggled, she fought hard-
Then
she gave up the Ghost and died.
The young doctor was shocked. He tried to
find
out what went wrong. Eventually he found
out
that it was our dear Sola (now working as a
cleaner in the hospital) who had
disconnected
the lady's oxygen machine to connect his
phone
charger.
Wait ooo!... Don't tell me that you thought
that
Sola became the doctor? lol
If ah hear....

You want Aregbese to pay gbese? You don enter gbese be that Seriously, this man is a disgrace to Osun people. Even the hoteliers are stupid! If his policies were affecting you positively, then you'd be having guests trooping in and out of your hotels and wouldn't feel the impact of his debts. Anyway, I understand, you have to sweeten the request with a little praise just to see if the rascal will have some human feelings for once. 4 Likes |
