http://pulse.ng/politics/ministerial-list-mixed-reactions-as-lai-mohammed-emerges-as-nominee-id4233719.htmlIntegrity Group, an anti-corruption group, has filed a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate protesting the nomination of the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, as a ministerial nominee, citing allegations of fraudulent practices during his tenure as the governor of the state.

The group argue that Amaechi is yet clear his name over allegations of fraud concerning the sale of the state power plants and conversion of proceeds running into $302 million, unlawful payment of over N4 billion to Clinoriv Specialist Hospital and unlawful enrichment of a firm, Messrs Collect Nigeria Ltd., with public funds amounting to over N1.5 billion.

In an address in a press briefing in Abuja today, the Publicity Director of Integrity Group, Livingstone Wechie, allege that Amaechi is currently being investigated by anti-corruption agencies for unlawful enrichment and conversion of over N70 billion state resources and as such, should not be made a minister in the country.

Wechie added that Amaechi has resisted efforts to get him to explain the circumstances regarding the monies to the people of Rivers State, as he failed to appear before the recent Justice Omereji-led Judicial Commission of Enquiry set up by the state government.

Amaechi is holding PMB and APC to ransom. They have no choice but to compensate him after spending billions of Rivers Money on them for election

It is only people of the South writing petitions against their own. The group should have petitioned the EFCC or Police. National Assembly is not court. Let corrupt people be jailed.

Shut up you riffraff. His name should be removed because he was among those who sent your hero, GEJ, packing? Or because you don't like him? Anyway, your opinion on Amaechi does not count; it only ends on Nairaland. Lemme see that bastard who's gonna hinder Amaechi's clearance. Whether you like it or not, Amaechi is the next Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

Are you his chief press secretory? I don't like the south nailing their own but if he is indicted and found corrupt he should have no business being a Minister.

Petitions against Amaechi already with EFCC and ICPC. These govt agents have refused to commence INVESTIGATION because they are of APC and Buhari is involved.

If Amaechi was involved with a crime or corruption

I wouldn't know , but the point Buhari is proving is that at this point no politician is untouchable , if he's corrupt Buhari will hang him by his balls

but for now that he's still in the clear, Please stop wailing

my thoughts exactly. Remeber those days of Peter Odili when all we had in PH were just billboards? Amaechi did real jobs. He may not be a saint but which politician is a saint? Amaechi is only bein witch hunted cos he's in the opposition party. If he had remained in the PDP, no one would have thought of probing him or whatever. We all know how Odili left unprobed just cos he handed over to a fellow PDP member.
