This will be a very fruitful solution if truly there's no hidden agenda to that policy.

It is so disheartening that the impression being given through the decades is that there is no possible solution to the issue.l have been to many diary farms both big and smallholders and know by fact that the nomadic system is a waste of time! Even the stereotype belief that cattle rearing is the preserve of the Fulanis, anyone with the required knowledge can go into it in any part of Nigeria. If the cows the Fulanis roam around with within the southern region don't die, if proves one can successfully have a cattle ranch in the south!

Hmmmmmm. You have so much knowledge on this aspect. Hope our government will listen to ideas like this and thereafter implement same. Thanks.

The Fulanis should be open to change and shift to zero grazing as the North has a vast landmass and should grow Boma Rhodes grasses for hay. which takes only four months from planting to harvesting. Make bales from it and feeding the cows in their stalls. The cows suffer less stress while producing more milk and beef. What is the rocket science in this?

They are too lazy to till the ground. Even Buhari has chosen to be petroleum minister.

For all intent and purposes i am not aware that cattle grazing is in the exclusive list on the constitution. What is the meaning of crying to Buhari/FG on what should normally be a local matter. Why are we Nigerians so slow in thinking? We have state assemblies who have the power to regulate and make laws on direction of vehicular traffic and designate one-way or two-way roads but don't know what to do in regulating cow traffic within their own territory. It is really shameful at the low opinion we have of ourselves.

I am not aware of any state assembly in the process of passing laws to prescribe laws on cattle movement and handling. I am aware Lagos State government made laws on where and how to slaughter cows.

What is is stopping the unimaginative assembly men in the affected states from enacting laws to regulate how to handle cattle and protect the right to property that is enshrined in our common constitution.

And the legislators are lucky to have mainly ignorant followers who view the role of the assembly men as the ones to pay hospital bills, rents and schools fees for the needy and help themselves to the remaining money.
enugu assembly has done that.

Restricting the movement of any Nigerian without recourse to the laws of the land is illegal and cannot stand. All fulani Nigerian citizens have the right to graze anywhere so long as they obey the law. The criminal elements amongst them need to be punished

enugu assembly has done that.

Good move, why wait for FG and make the matter look so big and intractable. The only thing left is enforcement and a special local force with police escorts can be created to ensure compliance with the law. After all they have Hisbah police in some northern states with Sharia law.

Once the law is passed at the state level even the FG will needs to go to court in order to get it repealed.

Even with that law, they're yet to obey such edict. Series of gruesome murder cases are still being recorded in Enugu communities without recourse to the law of the State. Guess it's high time State Policing or licencing vigilantee groups for effective implementations of such laws.

We really need to get busy for ourselves. We can't afford to waste our time on issues to hardly have direct impacts on us. God will continue to bless and expand our hustle.

You've said it all Sir. I always look forward to read your post.

What we are lacking in Nigeria is the political will to solve some of our problems. Some Fulani people see it as their way of life, they must wander the length and breadth of west africa. One of the reasons why they may not buy this great idea.

We don enter am already, their Oga at the top is the President now. It's now left for State House of Assemblies to make law that will protect their people before people take laws into their hands.

God Have Mercy. This Fulani Herdsmen From Hell issue don tire me walahi.

Am not based in NIgeria, so l do not know where you can get the seeds for planting. Do ask around around. You can read through these links for more insights.
