Its unfortunate that in this age, we still celebrate road construction by our rulers...with our money. What happens to human development? After his tenure, his main scorecard will be the number of roads he built, or useless structures he mounted...like his predecessor, while Abians keep trooping to Lagos in search of greener pasture. Nonsense. 1 Like |

obum88: Why use Abians as Guines pigs? Go and google concrete road construction and see the nonsense those guys are doing with shovels. Do you think Abians deserve this rubbish? 1 Like |

funkiebully: Concrete can't withstand tension so can't serve as the base. The base of all roads are under tension so concrete without reinforcement will just fail instantly. 4 Likes |

MrMcJay: Nwanne calm down! Your blood fit boil stone. When I came to Lagos I saw where they use interlocking stone to construct roads I was surprised. I sounded more like you then. But with time the road was proving its worth. Just be patient. How many of the asphalt wey layer no reach slice of bread last pass one year. So encourage innovation. 1 Like |

400billionman: Yes his pic shows finished reinforced concrete road. The load distribution he showed was because the steel rods were there else the concrete will just breakup in pieces from the base and extends to the top. |

Obiagu1: Oga, how did u arrive at the conclusion that the concretes are not reinforced? Before laying the reinforcement mesh won't u lay a base? Obviously the OP didn't snap that, but the pictures up there are just concrete base on which the mesh will rest before the covering concrete. 1 Like |

funkiebully: Okay oo, continue waiting for the mesh. Can't you see the intended thickness of the road with the curb as a guide? There's no plans to reinforce it, trust me. Concrete roads are very expensive that's why it's not so popular. 2 Likes |
