Talking about lowering prices, I think its inevitable. With more cars coming on the platform at an aggressive rate as is being experienced now, we can only make space for each other by lowering remittance to 35k for 1.8ltr engine and below. We will all still break even in no time.
I already reduced remittance to 35k since January, and I believe it will take about 400-500 new cars to affect my and my drivers' earnings.
A corolla I bought for 1.5m in January is already at almost 250k in just 7weeks. 35k is not bad after all.

So far my drivers are delivering 40k a week on a 2.0 liter engine. When the drivers were making money during Xmas period. Did partners ask them to increase their rental?. Cars that are 2003 till maybe 2005 rental should be 35k . That I agree on. But as many cars coming into the platform . Many are living too. Uber / taxify are blocking a lot of drivers. Due to bad cars . Has more cars flood the market, riders will ultimately decide which cars will stay via rating process . More cars flooding the market equals picky riders . One of my drivers was blocked by taxify. The reason the A/c was not working. And also the car had shock issue. The car still looks very good appearance wise . Time will tell on these platform . Only cars from 07 will have a better advantage to stay.
It will eventually be quality over quanity in due time

Zero Naira. It was bought Tokunbo. The driver did the change of oil from his pocket last month out of appreciation.

what oil and oil grade was used.
Recommended engine oil is 5w30 full synthetic to cover maximum mileage of 5,000miles.

Get involved in your vehicle repairs.

Is the oil recommended for all the Toyota corolla models. How much is 5w30 full synthetic? Is it available in filling stations like Mobil or Toyota.

From a technical perspective, mineral oil (mobil xhp) is about 5,000 for 4 liters.

Duration of use should not exceed 5000km (3000miles) (better 3000km 1800miles).

sadly what you find is drivers blowing 5000miles on Mineral oil. engines will run, but die a slow death.

End result is premature wear and tear, build up of sludge, and a replacement engine after a a few months of use.

Yea 5000km... This grammar and numbers i sabi, once my car shows MAINTANCE REQUIRED, the next day i change the oil and oil filter to the recommended spec. Then record my ODO... Its usually between 4500-5000km+ before i see another maintenance required...

Fuel comsumption and cheap availability of parts- 1.8l engine(very economical) and parts full oyingbo and Lapido
As for ruggedness; a friend drives same vehicle full-time on Uber/taxify and he drives himself for over a year now, just regular maintenance issues one would expect from overworking a car on E-hailing ie suspension, AC, tires etc.
Final verdict all things being equal(competent kazeem mechanic and original parts) i think it is reliable car for e-hailing

You're killing your engine slowly, you should service your engine twice before you see maintenance required

What about total quartz 9000

Bro I am not saying partners should start giving out their cars for 35k. I was only replying to that partner that was getting worried about the sharp increase in number of cars being registered on the platform.

My point is that if push comes to shove, we will only have to reduce remittance from 40k to 35k and doing that doesn't mean we still won't break even and make profit.

In other words, more cars are welcomed. It won't affect the profitability of the business.

I would like to see how your Civic fare, might consider it when its time to buy another car.

What about total quartz 9000

I hear a rumor that there is a lab report proving that our Nigerian quartz 9000 is a scam. Not entirely full synthetic. I checked my gallon again and realised they never wrote full synthetic oil. They only wrote 'synthetic technology'.

I don't gamble with my engines. As at today, I've moved all vehicles on Nigerian quartz 9000 to Mobil 1 USA 5W-40 and 0-W40.

At least I know what I'm pouring now.
