DONSMITH123:
Leadership of the Senate is locked in another battle with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is as current holders of the majority leadership positions have been told to vacate office for soon-to-be announced replacements.

Indications emerged yesterday that the political solution being worked on by Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara is about to be implemented.

Dogara and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Senate met on Tuesday evening at the new wing of the Senate complex.

It was gathered that Saraki had been under pressure to speak to his allies in the Senate, including the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume; his deputy, Bala Ibn Na’allah and the deputy majority whip, Senator Francis Alimikhena, on the need to reconstitute the leadership in line with the party’s wish.

He reportedly made the communication earlier in the week but not without opposition.

However, the expected modification in the hierarchy has been generating different views at the chamber, with associates of those affected accusing Saraki of trying to use and dump them.

On his part, Ndume has said he would not step down, calling for those handling negotiations to come up with another resolution.

Nonetheless, Saraki may any moment from now, name Senator Ahmad Lawan, as the new Senate Leader.

DAILY POST learnt that Saraki, who has been trying to mend fences with the party leadership since his controversial emergence on June 9, has given his word to effect necessary change that would endear him to chieftains.

APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun had on June 24 written the Senate President and Speaker, Dogara, listing the names of proposed occupants of the leadership positions in the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Names in the letter were Lawan as majority leader; Professor Sola Adeyeye as chief whip; George Akume as deputy majority leader and Abu Ibrahim as deputy chief whip.

After initial resistance, Dogara did the needful and the House seems to be at peace since then.

However, Saraki’s allies in the Senate named different persons.

But come to think of it,who is more qualified than Saraki to lead the house with all his credentials and followership, respect and domineering attributes?

A good leader doesn't put the his party before the will of the people...

He's a betrayer... And a criminal... I will agree with you... But his leadership quality is outstanding...

The clock is ticking, 4 years (48 months) is not a long time, 10% (4.8 months) of the life span of this current government is gone already and they're still bickering about leadership positions and ministerial screening. Get on with it already, Nigerians are expecting results and change, and nothing has happened yet!

Saraki is simply utilizing the opportunity given him by the ...... so they will mellow down on the skeleton found in his cupboard and help him cover the mess. This is corruption modified. "do our bid or we throw you into a pit"
I"m so sorry for Nigeria.
